Title: 1500 Mah battery for Belt Cp V2
Post by: Hellyflyer on January 18, 2010, 06:44:29 PM
Hi Guys.

I have a 11.1v 1500 maH 3s 20c discharge lipo that I use with my Honey Bee King 2 and i'm wondering if there's any consequences for using them in my Belt CP V2 Apart from the obvious shorter flights, is there any potential risk of damage to either the battery or the heli if i use an underpowered battery? I know little about electrical stuff and so thought I should ask. :headscratch:

Thanks

20c should be fine for normal head speeds (hovering and sport flight).  Higher C ratings help when you get into 3D.

Also,

in addition I want to know if the maH makes a difference as I have a 1500maH and normally Esky gives 1500/1800maH 20C for the belt cp V2. So should I fly it with the 1500 Mah or should I order another one I am thinking Zippy 2200maH 3s 20C

mAH only affects the flight time, so that is not a problem (except for shorter flying times).

Well, to be precise, mAH also affects the weight, which can have an impact on flying characteristics. But if the recommended value is 1800, and you are trying 1500 or 2200, they should pretty much work (barring the heli finds the 2200 too heavy, but that is unlikely).  I also noticed that the packs in general have become lighter than a year or two ago, for the same mAH (probably due to advances in cell chemistry).
