My wolfpack charger has a problem I guess.
Yesterday while I was charging my 2s lipo I found out that it was only charging one of the cell and not both of the cells. The voltage of one cell reads 4.11v and one reads 3.84v, Now this is a huge difference, what shall I do.
I am not complaining but when I contacted RCB today regarding this matter they refused to replace the product in spite of them mentioning this thing on their website.

Have you tried charging the same LiPo with any other charger? (or the same charger with any other LiPo?)
Are you sure that the LiPo have not got damaged due to "Over-Discharge" ?

I am saying this because even the cell1 voltage that you have mentioned is 4.11.
A healthy cell should read about 4.26 volts after being fully charged.

Also, are you facing this issue since right after receiving the charger or after a while?

No I have not since I do not have another battery or charger. The lipo is not damaged due to over discharge but once I shorted a cell by mistake

I am saying this because even the cell1 voltage that you have mentioned is 4.11.
A healthy cell should read about 4.26 volts after being fully charged.

Sir I did not charge the battery full, because I got scared that the battery will become overly unbalanced. Yeah the battery was charging this cell but not the other (the one which voltage is 3.84v)

Also, are you facing this issue since right after receiving the charger or after a while?

I am facing this after a few months.

Also the charger is not detecting the other cell.

Being "overly unbalanced" is not an issue. If you see you battery already is overbalanced.
BTW, is any of the cell puffed?

Which charger is it? It should detect a cell having voltage of 4.11v

It is detecting the cell with the higher voltage and charging it but not charging the one with the lower voltage neither detecting it.
Nothing is puffed.

It is a wolfpack B3AC.

Please elaborate how did you concluded "Not detecting" ?

Was it due to no change in the color of LED's (from RED to Green) when you connect this LiPo?
If yes, please try the following 2 ways:

1) Connect the Charger to wall socket, and then connect the LiPo.
2) Connect the LiPo to the charger, and then connect the charger to the wall socket.

Let me know if it's still not detecting.

Ok, so after trying with both of the above mentioned methods, 2 out of 3 LED's stays Red and only 1 LED is green. Right?

Okay, That's strange. BTW, what are you using to check the voltage?
Please post the current voltages again.

How did you conclude that one cell is charging and another one is not. these basic chargers are quite good except that the connector get spoiled over a period of time.

It may be the problem of lipo as you had sorted the cell. Maybe after sorting, the cell is damaged or overdischarged.

I am using a multimeter.

I concluded this by checking the voltage before charge and after charge.

The battery is not overdischarged.

Find someone who has a programmable charger and ask him to make a cycle of storage/discharge and charge. and see if the issue still persist. trying anything on your own will likely kill the lipo

1 out of 3 led is red other is green.

Man you say that your charger detects only one cell of your 2S pack and charges only that one, but that contradicts what you said above if two of the three LEDs charged to green, your charger surely detects both cells, You haven't put the pack to fully charge yet. the main fact about LiPo is, they have speedier charge rate beyond optimum levels, ie: Below 3.0V and above 3.7V they charge up fast, but in optimum V level, charging will be slow (3.0V to 3.7V), You already said that you have accidentally shorted the terminals once

SO the conclusion is one cell may have more discharged than the other (the one with lower voltage of course) And the charger can't put both cells to equal voltage levels easily, what you have to do is monitor both Cell voltages simultaneously while charging, then wait until the high voltage cell comes up to 4.2V, if the other cell have no any voltage change till then, some other thing is wrong, and quickly take out the pack.

If it happens like this , you have to check other things, first thing to do is check whether there is voltage in all terminals of charger, may be charge voltage is not available in one output terminal of balance port, If so you have to check your charger for short circuits., and the battery should not have any problem if you can read out the voltage levels of each cell separately while not charging.

@rcnitesh, I think it is the charger problem. Even I have the same charger.I tried to charging a new lipo, one light is always red.  Sad Did you try to charge any other battery other than lipo in it? I think mine is spoiled due to charging li-Fe battery in it. Bang Head
