Hi,

Has anyone tried Turnigy Graphene Batteries?

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__2001__85__Batteries_Accessories-Turnigy_Graphene.html

Light on weight and a little heavy on pocket.

Seems a little bit of innovation here.
But not sure of the performance though.

The Graphene packs are brand new- released only today. They are still Lithium based, it is just that they are using a graphene substrate rather than the carbon nanotubes found in the Nanotech packs. Whether this is just a marketing ploy or actually contributes to flight performance remains to be seen. From what I've heard from the early testers on Facebook as well as RCGroups, they perform pretty well and are more forgiving of over-discharge (recover easily and barely heat up). They also have a decent IR apparently - around 5 milliohm per cell.

However they seem pretty heavy compared to other brands - The Tattu 1300 4S 75C is 154g, Bonka is 156g, Dinogy 65C is 140g while the Graphene is 176g. The Graphene is cheaper, but barely so, and anyway HK doesn't ship LiPos to India so I can't even get one of these to test.

Thanks for comments!

Here would be some points to ponder :

1. Will not be available in India anytime soon as HK doesn't ship it.
2. Good C rating but not light on weight or price
3. More forgiving and resilient to heat or over discharge
4. Overall will display good battery resistance.
5. Though Graphene as a substance is cheaper but that is not reflecting on price.

So overall a tester's item. Too early to jump on setting expectations.
No doubt it is a giant like HK who can try introducing it in....
