Title: First LiPO
Post by: iamahuman on May 24, 2010, 11:31:16 AM
I am going to buy a 1/16 traxxas E Revo brushless edition.I will be using the battery pack they have provided for my first few months.I wanted to get a LiPO for my car.If I get a 3s LiPO,It will work and I will try to get one of those. Can someone suggest which LiPO to buy and also the charger.I was worried about using a LiPO on a car because of the impacts it will take during jumps and hard crashes.Having read a lot about LiPOs ,I was thinking if they are safe when used for bashing and racing where crashes are inevitable.

First find out the voltage rating of your ESC. As far as I know the bigger Slash is overkill with a 3S lipo. So I would say 2S is best.  But check and confirm with the manual. Also be ready to upgrade drive train components after using Lipos.

You can get hard case batteries which will take big impacts. But I thought soft is will be better since you can see if the Lipos is damaged. Hobbyking batteries are very cheap, as per many, works well. I need to see for myself.

Maxamps are crazy expensive. Not worth it. Many other options available.
