I bought a new imaxRC B4 Pro Easy balance charger.
http://www.imaxrc.com/sub.aspx?pid=780&catid=9
The problem is that when I connected the battery to the charger, the all four LEDs were blinking red and green, which is a fault indication as per the manual. The connections I made are exactly as in the manual. I checked with another battery, but the same. Anybody please help me to find out what may be the problem and its solution.

first of all iMAXRC is not a genuine company, it sells products which are a EXACT copy of iMAX, which is the original company.

For the fault, you will have to send the product back to the company, try talkin to them on skype. They will help you out. They are online through Skype even on sundays.

Information sharing improves knowledge of both.

Please check the input DC PS/Cord, terminals etc. Again, please also check the cell terminals to PCB.

Why Blinking ?

Actually, when the sense voltage is lower than low set point, It starts boost charging, But due to the Source+Load Impedance (Cell internal Resistance), The drop becomes more and PCB terminal voltage shows higher which indicate Full Charged. Therefore, boost charging changes to Trickle charge/No charge mode, and again, the Voltage sensed is low. Therefore it again goes to boost charging mode and again, all the thing happens.

The result is you get the oscilating light output. Now the oscilating delay depends upon the microntroller program delay for Digital or Simple circuit delay for analog circuit.

Vpcb  = Vbat + I(Rbatt+Rconnector)

where,
Vpcb = (Sence Voltage),
Vbat = cell voltage,
Rbatt = Cell internal resistance.
Rconnector= Connector resistance

Now watch the equation, The Rbatt is the internal resistance which increases with battery usage/life due to leak of fluide i.e. low in active material, and gives poor battery indication.

But what happened to your cell, which is good? Possibly, connector lead resistance may cause the same effect. Just check with the minimum current settings. Or, as it have warranty, you please don't open and try to replace. If not, then check the cord, cell connectors etc, i. e. the entire path resistance.

Happy troubleshooting.

Thanks.
