Hi Guys,

I have some problem with my lipo batteries. I dont get the correct output Voltage as expected. I have 3 lipo batteries and IMAX b3 charger.

1. Zippy 2200 mah 25C 11.1V 3Cell
2. Turnigy 2200mah 20C 11.1V 3cell
3. Rhino 2620mah 11.1V 3cell Transmitter Lipo

All batteries are new, when I test the output Voltage by each cell I dont get the expected Voltage.

1. Zippy 2200 mah 25C 11.1V 3Cell

wire combination: red,white,yellow,black

red,black   =12.7V
yellow,black=8.4V
white,black   =4.1V

2. Turnigy 2200mah 20C 11.1V 3cell

wire combination: red,blue,yellow,black

red,black   =8.6V
yellow,black=0.0V
blue,black   =4.3V

3. Rhino 2620mah 11.1V 3cell Transmitter Lipo

wire combination: red,blue,yellow,black

red,black   =9.3V
yellow,black=0.7V
blue,black   =5.0V

IMAX b3 charger output

3cell pins
1 and 4 =14.5V
2 and 4 =10.0V
3 and 4 =3.4V

2cell pins
1 and 3 =8.9V
2 and 3 =4.4V

Here are the question/problems

1. what is the mini and max volts a cell
2. I think, zippy battery working good, but its a 11.1v battery why the output is 12.7V (I have not charged this battery more than once)
3. 1 cell of Turnigy and Rhino cell is nearly 0.0V is that cell has gone bad. I have tried charging the batteries multiple times and no change.
4. how can I charge individual cell

The minimum voltage of each cell is 3.0 volts
Max voltage is 4.215 volts, as such the total voltage of 3 cells would be about 12.6 volts.

Information sharing improves knowledge of both.

Check each cell voltage. Grin

I also think the zippy is ok.
The turnigy is bad. You can use it for 2 cell application. Mainly as a receiver battery.
Each cell cannot be charged but when you balance charge the battery then the balance charger will regulate the cell voltage so that all the cell reads equal voltage. This is an indirect way of charging one cell.
I had one battery which read 3.0 3.8 3.8 voltage for a 3 cell lipo. When I charge that the cell with 3.0 v is first brought up to 3.5 v and then all charge.
If the lipo battery cell voltage is below 2.8 v the it is damaged permanently.

Check each cell voltage.

I will try connecting cellphone charger (5V) and charge individual cell and check. I will do this for turnigy 2200 battery  and check

I have a problem too... My kid left my Tx on  Bang Head (she's sneaked and did that)
and Now my Lipo is not charging. I have a iMax B6 charger and it says "low voltage" I've connected the 'futaba' connector to the output and the Jst balance to its port. after the check it says Low Vtg.
CAn I change something on the charger to save the batt?Huh?

enjoyed 2 weeks of flyin on one charge!

Purush, Thanks for that, will post my success..

Being a 3s 11.1v what should the minimum voltage be?
and being a 2500mH batt, should the amps be set at 2.5??

@purush.I have revived two of my nearly dead lipos using my turnigy eco 6 charger by setting the charger at the nimh batteries and directly connecting the output wires of the charger with that of the batteries with out balance connector and having the out put voltage set at 0.1A.

At the same time i feel that you have a broken connection inside your turnigy lipos(2200mah).Because same thing happened with one of my turnigy 1800 mah lipos and when i opened the outer covering of the same i got to know that one terminal was having a broken soldering onto that but be very careful if you are doing it for the first time and at the same time there is a day where in you do any thing for the first time. So,depends altogether on to you only, if you want to try or just replace it with a new one.

@KALYANPRODHAN
I first connected my turnigy 2200 mah battery(yellow, black wire) to cellphone charger and had multimeter also attached to the connection, noticed multimeter reading raising in 0.01+V. I had this connection for an hour and noticed the multimeter reading as 0.22v, then I removed the cellphone charger and checked the volts in the battery it again shows 0.00V.

Later I connected my Rhino 2620 mah battery (yellow, black wire) to cellphone charger, with in minutes the multimeter reading started to increase, in 5 minutes I got the reading to 3.4V.

My cellphone charger output is 5V and 1A.

Now the problem with 2200 mah battery, is that cell gone bad or as SAROV stated will there be a broken connection inside your turnigy lipo battery.
