Title: Need help on buying or making CHARGER for 9.6v 700mAh Ni-Cd 8 cell

Can anyone help me with where to buy from , or how to make a CHARGER for Ni-Cd 700mAh 9.6V 8cell battery pack ? Which i use in my hovercraft. If there are any cheap alternative or easy to get options , please advice :D Does anyone have one ? I'm from kerala , kottayam dist. Location not a problem anyway .

You can buy any 12v adapter with 1 amp current rating.

This is the cheap option. Else you need to buy a professional charger like B6

Just keep notice the warmth is the deciding factor for full charge.

Yeah he is correct.

Just get a 12V charger, n plug in a small DC voltage meter to the charger terminals.The voltage is as follows-

(only for nicd cells)

Normal charge state-(40%)-      (1.24 * 8) = ~ 9.9V
Fully charged-          (100%)-     (1.5 * 8) = ~ 12V

A nicd should be charged at constant current which is normally one tenth of the mah (capacity of thebattery) rating. At this rate the charging time is 12 hours. Use a LM213 in a constant current configuration. I have been using such a home built charger for my nicd/nimh batteries for many years.  Circuit is pretty simple and available on the internet. Just google for it.
