I thought I will share this with you all. My brother had this 2CH RC Car (toy) which got broke and even the battery charger got lost somewhere. He was planning to throw away the parts & even the battery... which I asked him not to Smiley

I looked at the battery back and it was 9.6v pack... did some math and I concluded that it could be 8 x 1.2v NiCD battery pack. I decided to peel it open and volla it was 8 x 1.2v rechargable NiCD batteries inside it. Checked every cell with volt meter and found that they were not completely dead. Put them through charger cautiously and constantly monitoring the heat level of cells... after 30-45 mins they all read as 1.25 - 1.35v cell Smiley Hurray!!! I just earned myself few rechargable NiCD Smiley

I always check our thrift stores and places that sell used clothing, toys etc. I've found  a lot of toy trucks and cars with good rechargeable battery packs for less than $1.00 (USD). Just keep your eyes open.

Have fun,

Yes, forgot to mention the motors and wheels that come as a bonus. How about headlights for landing lights for an F-16???
