Guys,

I am in process of ordering battries from Hobby King, first I'd like to know which is better brand, Zippy or Turnigy ?

I am buying Battrey for J500, my electronics include

3xTurnigy S3317M Servo 26g / 3.0kg / .14sec
1x HKS9257 Servo for rudder
Turnigy Typhoon 500 Motor
Hobbyking SS Heli Series 70-80A ESC w/UBEC
Hobby King 401B AVCS Digital Head Lock Gyro

Which battrey I should go for ? I am looking at
- Turnigy 2200mAh 6S 30C Lipo Pack
- ZIPPY Flightmax 2450mAh 6S1P 30C
- ZIPPY Flightmax 2650mAh 6S1P 30C
- ZIPPY Flightmax 2800mAh 6S1P 30C
- Turnigy 2450mAh 6S 30C Lipo Pack

Can someone please suggest the right battrey ? Head Scratching

RC India - Flying and racing with open minds !

"6S" by default means "6S1P".  For the price, I have been very happy with the Flightmax batteries.

As you know, more mAH usually translates to higher weight.  I have no experience with this heli model to say what size/mAH would be too much for this heli, see if there are recommended battery weights in the manual, or look around for experiences of other users either on HK website or other RC forums.

Not sure if any local sellers would have ALL these in stock.  I would be surprised if they had, without ordering afresh themselves.

1.) All are in almost the same range. Now, it depends upon your application and the weight. If your model is able to carry more weight, then obviously go for 2800mah...
2.) I have used both Zippy and Turnigy. Both are almost comparable and deliver similar performance. Zippy however, in some configurations turns out to be cheaper than Turnigy.
3.) 6S1P and 6S are the same.
4.) Charger - I would personally suggest iCharger 106B+ (if in budget) as you will be able to charge a 6S at 5 amps rate. With Regular 50W chargers like Accucell 6, you wont be able to charge at more than 2.3 amps. However, even that is ok if you have multiple packs.

If you are looking for good performance and fast charge rate, then Nanotech is the answer. Infact any Lipo rated above 40C constant discharge is 5C charge compatible.

After discussing with Rajesh, its better to go for 30+ C batteries for a 500 size heli. Not sure about mah for a JR heli. Should be above 2500 for sure.

You can also buy the turnigy 200 watts charger. I have used it for some time, requires recalibration but worth the price. balances well. can charge upto 10 amps or 200 watts.

If you are planning to stay longer in this hobby buy a 20 amps I Charger.

I'll be going in for a Turnigy 3000 mAh 6S 30C battery....

Which out of the following chargers, I should buy:

1. Turnigy A-6-10 200W Balance charger & discharger
2. HobbyKing Variable 6S 50W 5A Balancer/Charger w/ accessories
3. Turnigy Accucel-6 50W 6A Balancer/Charger w/ accessories

2. HobbyKing Variable 6S 50W 5A Balancer/Charger w/ accessories
3. Turnigy Accucel-6 50W 6A Balancer/Charger w/ accessories

Accucell 6 has been rated as a good performer at a reasonable price. This is value for money. Performance is also great. However limitation is the 50W circuit.

HK Variable is suppose to be a precise balance charger with individual pots on the back side to calibrate individual ports. But there have been issues with some voltages still not showing correct.

A-6-10 is a good charger. If you are planning to stay in this hobby for long as suggested by Vinay, you may want to try this out.

Not only costly, none of the ebay/other Chinese manufacturer battery quality/life/cycles even come close to HK.
