I bought this LiPo as a backup battery for my quad. Technically it is capable of 2.2 x 25 = 55 Amps discharge. I understand it may be slightly lower in real life. I have used it a few times on my quadcopter (which draws a max of 10-13 amps per motor) which is near the full load capacity. The battery gets quite warm from this use. I have never discharged it below 3.7V per cell and I have only been charging at 1 Amp (as advised by the RCbazaar guys). Recently while flying with this LiPo, my quad refused to lift off even at full throttle. I checked the battery and the voltage was around 3.8V per cell. I assumed the voltage was sagging under load and so it was not lifting. I noticed that cell 2 was lagging behind by 0.1V so I used balance mode on my charger and charged the LiPo up to 12.6 V. Even then, Cell 2 was slightly lower. I just went out to fly and my quad once again refused to lift off even at full throttle. The setup is not a problem since it works fine with a different battery. I connected my voltage checker and spun up the motors. I noticed that while the total voltage was dropping, cell 2 had dropped to 1.65V under load  Shocked I immediately disconnected and went back inside. Now the LiPo is showing 12.3V after less than a minute of testing. Cell 1: 4.15V Cell 2: 4.04V and Cell 3: 4.15 V. I need some help as to what I should do. This battery is not at all puffed. Could it be a bad cell in the LiPo? Should I try removing the cell or is this battery done for?  BTW, this thread is not to complain about RCBazaar (which is a great store) or force a replacement. It is only to ask for help.

can you specify the motors and props used and total weight of your quad.

if you are discharging 13 amps/motor  then 13*4 = 52 is a huge discharging current for this battery. always keep in safe margin is below 75% of max discharging rate.

and are you sure that the 10-13 max discharging rate that said is accurate? if you are using large props will increase current rating.

also a tied down quad in max throttle can take all juice out of the battery.

I am using SunnySky x2212 980 kv motors with 10x4.5 props. The quad was not tied down. It weighs 975 grams without the LiPo (another 179 grams as per the website). The LiPo I use with no problem: the Wild Scorpion weighs 279 grams. The 13.2 Amp figure comes from an online chart with 10x4.7 props with a 3S LiPo. eCalc says 11.68 Amps at max. I guess I will stop using this LiPo on the quad. What should I do about it though?

figure seems fine, but in real life it should have variation and discharging capacity varies along with the voltage change.

had any short circuits before or did you tried to check the lifting capacity by holding quad in your hand and in full throttle?
that also reduce battery's capacity.

any way probably at least one of your cell in that battery is damaged.

Thanks for the help sir. I did not ever short the LiPo and also I have not tried holding the quad in my hand. I definitely don't want to try it after I got a prop cut just yesterday (dumb mistake, I unplugged the M1 connection to reboot the kk instead of unplugging the main battery plug; other motors started spinning). I guess I just will not use the LiPo anymore or maybe cut out the cell to make a 2S pack. Just a quick question, I nicked a streetlight today and one prop is slightly cracked. I hovered a bit with the prop and it seems fine. Can I use it or do I need to replace it? The only other CCW prop I have is an ugly orange.

i think that the prop should be replace to be safe. and keep the battery as is and use it for other low discharging applications.

Thanks. I will do that. Looks like its time to order more props  Bang Head Might as well throw in some LED strips with my order or maybe another LiPo.
