Hi, I just made  a small plane that looks good, flies perfectly and is very easy to control. Takeoff and landing are so easy. It can fly even at very low altitude at a really slow pace at half throttle.

Yes, slow fliers are my craze too! To build a slow flier, you need to decrease AUW as low as possible. All you need is less than 2500 Rs.One advantage I see with slow fliers is that you don't have to look up into the sky all the time! Grin Giggle

Although u mentioned about AUW Cheesy

Hahahahaha  yeah........ But what ever it is,  it simply awesome  looking at such slow fliers.... I was totally amazed to see the video on Anwar Sir's post....... Post about the plane which could literally fly at the speed at which we walk....

And one Request/suggestion/question.....I dont know how to put this up.....(Although i have applied this on a part of thermocol piece and to my surprise it actually worked in strengthening it. But i couldnt implement on rc plane and see its performance )

But as i know u keep creating master pieces u may have used the idea/or u can apply the idea and see/ observe the outcomes in better way...

If possible Apply cellophane tape over your Thermocol/depron based  parts of your plane....
And gently Raise the temperature of press/iron(Upto certain temperature which can only affect tape and not the thermocol material...)              just like Heat shrinks but at low temp
And gently apply press over that portion.....The adhesive tape will stick to thermocol in a better way adding some strength to it ....

Just like people apply plastic sheets over plane and apply press over them.. Smiley

I think my idea will add more strength and will add less weight to overall AUW......
It may lead to less friction  which i suppose is known as drag in RC Just an assumption Smiley

**if excessive heat will be applied then the tape will either burn or it may lead to curve in depron sheet.so it should be done with care and at right temperature Smiley .**
You can apply excessive heat to one side(inner side of wing or the down side) of wing to create Cambered wing type As it will curve the sheet in one side.... And be gentle to other side Cheesy

Sukhpreet, that sounds a very good idea to me. I'll surely try this on my next build. Thanks. Yes, you are right,This Sellotape is a wonderful thing for RC planes! For Thermocol , I used food wrap instead , and it also worked wonders for me. It is so thin and light weight, lighter than Sellotape, useful when we are more worried about weight, esp so  for a beginner. But it is hard to apply on a curved surface unlike sellotape and can't be ironed. So your idea seems better👍👍👍

For micro fliers, I think Kiran is a master on it.

@SI74,
You are the guy with the successful rubber powered model, no?
You should send a link to the new members following this thread.
Your rubber powered model may surprise them!

And your low slow RC flights are GREAT!
But no more rough and ready models from now, ok? You've passed that stage  Grin

We look forward to a nicely finished semi scale RC model from you now. Add some art, man!
Regards

And sir, yes ,  I am into art Smiley these days. Initially I thought I'll follow Sanjai sir; but still should find time to store images of his lovely creations and mimic them!  For that I have already purchased some coloured tapes as decals . More than that, I bought acrylic colours today Smiley and has started painting Smiley
