Dear kartik, i think u should atleast spend some time in reading posts pefore proceeding or making anything. This will save your time and money.

Dude, since you are planning a boat, i would prefer that you go on with the transmitter and reciever of your car itself. these have enough range(more than 200 feets) for a terristrial or aquatic beginner. For airplanes, offcource you require a good Tx,Rx(transmitter, reciever).

When you grow up in your hobby, u insist for branded transmitters and recievers.

And ha, secondly, for a boat you have everything in car, the motor, servo. All you require is just a prop, which you can make yourself if you are good at.

Material choice is yours. I will suggest you to go with thermocol, which you can get painted on later on when you want to enhace the look as well.

Are you studying Julius Caesar??   the roman words like 'thou' and the accent made me remember my school days...

Anyways

Yes, off course kartik you require a good pair or Rx,Tx. But in my opinion, you can do well  with your car radio setup initially, until you recieve your good ones.

Thermocol, i think its 1"inch" not mm.  The thinnest thermocol sheet available in market is 3mm.

Dude, you can stack and join few thermocol sheets using waterproof glues. After drying you will get a thick outcome.
Get in touch if you proceed, i will can guide you in construction techniques.

Im not very good at boats, so experts will help you technically.
