Title: Can we use 12v DC to power Esky 4 Ch Tx ?
Post by: sk010962 on January 13, 2010, 09:40:53 AM
Hi... I have a lama v4. The 4ch transmitter has a dc input port. There is no mention on it in the manual or elsewhere. Has anyone tried using a dc input while using the simulator. I am assuming it to be 12 v dc.

hi,

there is no problem in using 12 v dc.

I used 12 v dc on a 4ch FP but the receiver says as if the throttle is not zero and does not recognise.

For simulation there is no cause of worry.

Please check the output current, it should not exceed 500ma. so better check the 12 volt supply before using.

useda 12 v , 500ma adapter... did not work with the 4 ch E-Sky trans.... will probably try with 1 A.

no don't do that ! your radio should not consume more then 300mah (that's on the high side bro)

here is what u do !

first check whether the polarity of the adapter plug matchs that of the radio connector or plug
if the polarity is correct then plug in the adapter, radio should power up n work!. If u don't understand what i'm talking about or don't know how to check wait..........................

let me take some pictures and upload it here so that you can understand better, in the mean time try searching on this topic at rcgroups or rcuniverse or Google as some one like u must have done it or asked such a question !

Thanks for the heads up sahil. Will check with the polarity.

here u go, also note that the AC adapter puts out DC voltage

in the above pictures 1st is camera where the voltage rating is 6.6volts DC and polarity of the plug is outer metal ring positive and inner negative ! where as the AC adapter puts out 12volts DC and plug polarity reversed !

so this setup is a mismatch! this is what you should do !

1. make sure the AC adapter and radio plugs are compatible physically!
2. make sure the Ac adapter puts out right current and voltage required by the radio!
3. and check to see polarity of both systems match!

also check for any markings on the radio regarding voltage/current/polarity if unsure check with sandeep !
