Hello all,
I'm looking for a cheap but effective rc controller for my aircraft. Also I will be expanding my scope. I read some of the posts where they recommended buying a 4 channel controller. However, I feel buying a controlle with 6 or 8 or even higher no of channels is fine with me since this will be a one time investment. I browsed the internet for a list of controllers but nothing's available. By a lot of manual trawling, I've located quite a few brands like hitec,futaba,sanwa,spektrum,kingmax,turnigy,airtronics,JR,vex,etc.,etc.,etc. But I want users to advise me. I will buy at least a 6 ch controller. Out of the lot turnigy is the cheapest, but also the worst reputation. Please advise me which controller to use and if you know any other brands tell me about those too. And please give me a reputed seller also.

I know this is a very long request, but its not all that difficult to help me out!!!

Thanks in advance!!! Smiley Smiley

Hello pandit,
Welcome to RC india. We are like family members here and you can ask questions from anybody and at anytime. We will feel happy to help you.(Even i started asking questions from others)
Your decision for not buying turnigy is good .I will suggest you to but a 6ch controller ,but only FUTABA .Because it has not only earned maximum reputation but also is compatible with every rc realated accessories.

Buying a 2.4 ghz or 72 mhz depends on you and your area u live in.
Most people prefer buying a 2.4 ghz because it has no interference with other frequencies. If you have other buddies flying RC plane,Then dont ever buy a 72Mhz.I want to buy 72 mhz because there is no one in my area flying rc planes. But yes 72 Mhz has longer range and better PENETRATION through obstacles.
NOw it is up to you.

thnks

Futaba is good choice but you can also try Spektrum, Indian Hobbies selling both: http://indianhobbies.com/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=5_20

It also depends upon your budget actually, i have the Sanwa RDS8000 bought from Rcdhamaka, it is a wonderful radio and has 8 channels, the good thing about it is that if you order it, then along with it you will get 2 receivers and 4 servos which is an added bonus.

RC India - Flying and racing with open minds !

Pretty much any one of the big brands (Futaba, Airtronics, JR/Spektrum, Hitec) will be OK.  If you are constrained on budget, go for the HK ones.

Hitec 2.4Ghz (although best value for money) has not had a foot hold in the market, that is not their fault though (except may be marketing?).

JR/Spektrum has just moved to a better transmission system (DSMX instead of DSM2), so if you go for that brand, try to get a radio that supports the new type of transmission. That will make it future proof (for some time!).
