IMHO purchasing a used engine from e-bay is a big risk. I would buy an used engine only if I know the seller himself is a dedicated RC modeler and he guarantee the condition of the engine and its performance.

I agree with Mr Rao, while buying a used engine its rather important to know who used it! I bought a second hand engine recently, and just by knowing who used it and how- I realized the same after I received the engine. it was in great shape.
So be careful, and check before you take the plunge!

I am a Corogamist!

I have bought all my stuff from ebay US and never regreted a single purchase. All purchases were second hand... mostly NIB and keep in attic for years. Some of the engines were used and they were exactly same as the sellers description. So, I trust ebay US a lot more.

Sometime back, I bought a second hand engine in India and I really regret it. The seller did not describe the engine condition properly and I was really in need of that. So, without second thought I bought it out only to realize that it was a mistake. From then on, I purchase RC stuff from India "ONLY" if I know the seller very well.

Sahevaan,
I am glad you ordered your engine last week, and did not go in for this one. The ebay link is very misleading, as the seller has not posted the correct pictures. He just copied the new engine pictures, and gives you no information on how the engine really looks like.

When buying second hand RC its very important to see the real pictures to estimate the condition the stuff is in.
