hi guys,
well ...........used cars/trucks, &  fly helis......but ............ am sorting my first plane for over 30 years.............
It may seem like a funny question.....................
setting radio for elev....... which is 'more common' or accepted?
'stick up' for 'up' elev or 'stick down' for 'up' elev.??............. my thoughts are .........'stick up' for 'up' elev.........seems to be the logical way Wink
but just want to be sure which way is accepted as standard.

The standard is :

'Stick Down' for pitching up (Elevator up)
'Stick Up' for pitching down (Elevator down)

I think  it is less ambiguous if one uses the expresssion "stick forward for down elevator" and vice versa. "stick down" can be and - from the posts - is confusing.

Practice, and only Practice will make you perfect

Easier way don is , and what I teach my pupils in real life flying as well is , when you move the controls, the control surface should meet the stick, which means say stick back the elev should meet the stick by moving up similarly when you move the stick forward , same is applicable for aileron and rudders as well, any control movement the the control surface should meet the stick, sort of lime husband and wife relationship , meet me half way Wink

hi mate.
it is the same as for helis then Smiley
I was not sure if stick forward on plane was nose up or down. but got it straight now then......stick forward nose down......real life plane application Smiley Smiley
same with ail .............right stick .......roll right etc
just needed to be sure as if some one else fly the plane I  don't want controls reversed from  'the normal' .
