Hello All,
I am a new comer to the world of Aero Modelling and am presently flying electrics ( Sky Surfer V3 and Dynam Cessna 182 Trainer from RC Bazaar).... Right now i have RCB OS -10 Transmitter for both these planes.

I intend to venture on to the world of Gas engines and am planning to buy a High Wing trainer size 61~75. However, i have been advised to buy a Futaba 10 JA transmitter for the new plane.

I would like to request all of you to please guide me as well as also share with me your views on my present transmitter as well as alternatives to Futaba 10 JA

Thanks and regards to all,
Vikram

Don't wake a Tiger until you've factored the teeth

For any radio, reliability and range are important. With a 61-75 Nitro, the damage caused by an out-of-control model can be much more severe than say, a park size electric. That said, even an out-of-control electric can cause severe damage, leading to injury or property damage, and could possibly lead to an entire aeromodelling fraternity being blacklisted (yes, it has happened)

If your existing radio system is fine in terms of range (beyond visible range) and reliability (no glitches, all controls working properly including trims) then there is no reason why you can't continue using it. However if this is not the case, you should not be using it at all!

Futaba make good radios; so do many others. Look around for brands and pricing.

Retreat, Hell!

I've used 2 Futabas as well as the RCB OS -10. Futaba radios are miles ahead of the RCB in terms of quality and reliability.

However, there are a lot of other options available today. If you are looking for a low cost one, I'd suggest a Frsky Taranis X9D Plus (having used one myself). But, if you can wait, you should pre-order the FrSky Horus X12S at the below link.

Some other good options:

Graupner MC-20

JR XG14
