Title: Help !! Flying to India with a HPI BAJA 5B
Post by: Elvis on January 22, 2019, 06:24:22 AM
Heya. I've just joined this group. I'm flying to India next month. I'm planning on carrying my HPI BAJA 5B SS along with me which I also intend to take it back when I'm leaving the country. Do I need to declare it at customs and if I do, do I need to pay ? If yes how much and do do they accept payment by card or cash. If cash is it in rupees or foreign currency would do. Would they let me off with it or would they hold on to it? I have 2.4 GHz (SPEKTRUM DX5C) transmitter with me. Please can some shed some light on this.
Thanks

Welcome to the group.!!!

You can surely get your baja with the radio. Usually pistol grip radios do not attract attention and hence can easily pass through customs. You should declare it as a used personal RC car with no commercial value and your intent to take it back.

Customs accept INR but I doubt if you would need to pay anything for a used buggy with no commercial value.
Some officials also take USD under the table. However I suggest not to go that way.
