Hello everybody,
I am looking for a good FPV system for under 6000-6500 max. I need suggestions and I wanted to know if I can get small vtx and vrx from abroad as it's comparatively cheaper(I know that it won't be wise but it's just small and many people have got it recently so...)
Thanks

set acc_hardware = 1

I got my complete FPV setup, including the camera (HS1177), VTx (Aomway 200mW), VRx (FR632 diversity), goggles (Quanum V2) and antennas (Aomway cloverleaf + helical) from abroad and I did not face any customs issues. YMMV of course. A common budget setup I have seen used is:
  • VTx - TS5823
  • VRx - RC832
  • Goggles: Quanum V2 or the newer V2 Pro
  • Antennas: Aomway cloverleaf. Note that they are quite fragile so you may want to use some kind of protector. There are many cheaper antennas, but these are known to perform very well at the price. You may also want to consider this or this. Make sure to buy the correct connector matching your VTx (SMA/RP-SMA)
  • Camera- The Runcam Swift and HS1177 are known to be very good but are quite expensive. I don't know of any good budget options.

This should perform pretty decently but I have not used the VTx/ VRx myself. This may be slightly over your budget though.

How about this kit - http://www.quadkopters.com/product/fpv-kit-and-accessories/fpv-kit-5-8g-200mw-av-txrx-system-with-sony-ccd-420tvl-camera/
but the only problem with this kit is that the camera is 450 TVL and although there will be minimal lag , the picture quality wont be very nice. But it is in my budget if I get a battery and a quanum v1 goggle from somewhere in India as LCD screens are damn expensive!

I bought this. http://www.quadkopters.com/product/fpv-kit-and-accessories/fpv-kit-mini-5-8ghz-600mw-32ch-txrx-with-mini-600tvl-camera/ The quality of the camera is okay. Colour/ saturation bit less, but overall good for a beginner and it is cheap. The provided antenna has less range , may be 100-150 meters ( not tested in air) , so I bought this http://www.quadkopters.com/product/fpv-kit-and-accessories/circular-polarized-antenna-set/

Fpv can be done at dirt cheap
All you need is pair of mobile phones with internet (not wifi) any video chatting app and some pilot skills (god knows what will happen when you crash) . However it's not good as no one will risk his 11k mobile phone.

RC

I've been there , done the whole mobile thingy. Not a great fan. Even if you have 4G , that thing has a very high latency when on a plane flying 40-60 km/h . But, it's helpful on Rc cars etc. I used a cheap old samsung phone as the camera phone on 3G network. There was an app on playstore 2 years back. But , now it's gone. The developer turned it to baby cam , so it still works. I have used it on an rc plane once. Didn't see a thing clearly. I now have the 600mw kit from quadcopters and a used lcd got for ₹900 from RCI. Happy with what I have, especially when used with an osd, FPV is heaven.
