So recently my avionic 20 amp esc's 3 wires which go into the receiver were torn apart due to a crash, somehow soldered them and connected to receiver and battery but nothing happened. I guess the esc's dead as the motor isnt beeping anymore. To make sure the receiver is safe, i tried powering it from a 5v regulated supply and the servos were plugged in, i turned on the tx and powered up the receiver. The strangest thing happened, The receiver started beeping in a fast way! How can the receiver beep? And even the Red led is flickering! When i turn of the tx the beeping slow? Whats going on? How can the receiver beep?! Please help

i do not know that particular receiver ... but at a guess ....
the servos have a motor inside ... which is doing the beeping

May be you should upload a video, so experts can see it and may diagnose the problem.

Did you try rebinding the RX?
Something's wrong with the RX. How did the servo's behave when you supplied 5v?

Thank you guys for your response, I dont know how but since i was operating the plane near a wifi hotspot, the issue kept recurring, I disabled the hotspot and voila! The receiver powers on as usual and i was successfully able to control the plane. How can this happen?? note: (The servos were connected the entire time so we can take that off list)

most WiFi routers work on the 2.4 GHz band. Could have been possible interference with your 2.4 GHz radio.

But isnt the frequency hopping feature supposed to block something like this from happening? I would like to recreate the incident but i am afraid that I might end up damaging my receiver, Anyone can confirm this theory?

Frequency hopping is supposed to prevent that. But it can't prevent things like this all the time. From what I know about frequency hopping, sometimes the hopping sequences get pretty close and causes interference (interference also depends on the strength of the interfering signal). Since FHSS isn't really bullet proof by itself, radio Giants like futaba, graupner etc have built up their own proprietary protocols over FHSS to make it less prone to interference.

P.S. : there is little chance that you'll be able to recreate this. Recreating this won't damage your Reciever BTW.
