Servos are fine, however, how much of experience do you have of building a Guillows kit / conversion to electrics?

Follow your gut feel. You can do it. People have used 3 x 5 gm servos on these conversions, therefore, your conversion should be even better. I think (I could be wrong) you will need a motor similar to these and a matching ESC:

The Butcher Bird is my all time favourite, I'm sure you will do a great job building it.

All the best!

My friend, I have 3 of these models sitting in my inventory waiting to be built / converted. I am as clueless / clued up as you are. I feel 5gms are good enough (and cheaper), however, keep surfing the net / Youtube and see what the experts have to say. Would love to learn from your learnings.

do i have to apply clear dope? what if i wash this kit with fevikwik?

Have you covered it?
With what? Tissue?
Did you shrink it with water spray from a Colin bottle or toothbrush?
If you cant get dope, get NC Clear Lacquer from car paint shops.
Has to be NC, ie, nitro cellulose. Not PU.

Please look up aircraft dope on the net. It has been known for 100 years.

What do you mean by 'wash it with fevikwik'?

Pl post pics and equipment details. Also model dimensions and weight.

@abhishekfast
Please excuse attempts to give you advice.
Just noticed that your RC Skills level is 'Advanced', ie, higher than mine.

However, just to satisfy my curiosity, what's the AUW? Wing loading?
Regards

Awww come on K.K. Sir, let the kid have fun. Any more questions on wing loading and stuff and he will run away. By the way, it is a Guillows kit and they don't declare wing loading in the manual. Just let it pass Sir.

i have never built balsa or foam. i am flying models from last 4-5 years. i mean RTF or borrowed once from friends but now i got bored of just flying so want to build. so in excitement to start i bought kit from RCB pune shop. saw some videos on youtube for conversion to electric. i thought building kit is difficult but now i think finding motor, esc is difficult. anyways.

wing span is 42 CM.

wash it with fevikwik means, booklet says apply clear dope for strength. so i thought it is only to make model tough.

what i did after reading some post here for covering and shrinking tissue. i made a frame and used normal glue to stick tissue and applied glue and water 70% glue+ 30% water. Tissue shrunk well.
