Post by: B.Abraham on July 15, 2019, 05:15:34 PM
Hello freinds, Im a beginner for RC heli. Now assembling Hiller 500 heli. I'm finding difficulty in making the setup for Gyro. Need your help.
  Transmitter & receiver.. flysky i6
  Gyro.. Avionic X5
  Servos.. Avionic 25g AV9650.
  1) Any idea about this servo frequency?
  2)servo center position pulse ??
Thanks

500 size will be a little bit challenging for a beginner. Who suggested you to go 500... the shop attendant at RCB?

Ofcourse it seems to be a challenge. But ready to face it. I'm familiar with RC plane making and flying. Also with flying heli toys. So thought about having a bigger size heli. Based upon the availability of parts, proceeded with Hiller 500 flybarless.
Mechanical and electronics part done well. Now the problem is with setup of Gyro Avionic X5 . The manual supplied does not match with function of Gyro. seems so..

That's good.  . Your profile says you have set yourself a beginner. So the confusion.

1. Typical RC servo frequency is 50 Hz
2. As you probably know servo works on an electrical signal of above f of variable width (time). For example, a may be 1.5ms pulse will make the motor turn to the 90° position.  And thus centre position pulse.

Also please start posting the build on the heli section. That section is eating dust for some times now. Perhaps people have lost their interest in helis. No one posts in that section.

Is it a 4 cyclic setup? I mean are you sure 90 is the swash type? generally its a 3 servos cyclic setup and the type is 120.

Ok may be for this type of fbl its 90. What does the manual ask?

The gyro manual says that.... when you setup the 3 axis gyro fbl system, please use the traditional 90* swash plate mode. No matter whatever mode the swashplate of your heli is, it can't use swashplate mixing (such as 120 ECCPM), generally in heli mode you can choose H-1 or 1 servo swashplate mode......
actually in Hiller 500 the servos are at 120degrees

Ya the physical alignment is always 120 these days. But for fbl gyro to work its 90. Is the gyro responding on your stick move already?  I mean is there any swash plate movement?
