Planning to go with this design .... not sure how effective it might be

having some alterations in mind such as
> rudder just behind the nose
> elevator in the small wing at front

+1. You will need two experienced flyers for this, one for flying and one for hand launching it.
Try this one http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=921481
You'll have more fun and less heartburn

Title: Beginner in Mumbai
Post by: obraganza on April 18, 2011, 05:47:22 PM
Hi,

I have a scratch built Slowstick 0.62 scale made by myself. I have gained some proficiency in flying by using the FMS simulator (and my Transmitter). However I am still do not have the confidence to maiden my aircraft. I live in Mumbai (Ghatkopar West) and my estimate of the open area required has greatly increased after actually testing the plane (on the ground only). Is there any large open place in Mumbai where this is done regularly, or people meet and try out this hobby. I would certainly like to do it under guidance from fellow seniors. Any response or guidance will be of great help.

Neil

hi there, dnt know exact add but heres what i know..

from Et.Exp. highway,(going towards Thane) turn right for airoli bridge.. after x'ing over, you come across a circle...go straight towards Thane-Belapur highway..take a left for Kalwa...after 2-3kms (before the muni. corpn. 'arch' & subw-way) you'll see a left turn leading towards a wide open area with a few new/undercontruction office buildings on both side of this road (this place looks like bandra-kurla complex). 1/2km down people fly on rightside of this road. Its a huge ground good enough for ANY kind of plane !

For further info contact AshJr.

No. At the circle you turn LEFT. Head straight down. You will see PATNI COMPUTERS. The field is adjoining this.

But, I am informed that Patni have taken over part of this ground. I have no idea of what is left and whether it is still usable for "ANY kind of plane".

Ash is a regular and will elaborate.

Sushil_anand,

Obviously, that land would belong to somebody...but when was it 'taken over' ?
