Post by: theleabres on January 18, 2013, 07:50:06 AM
I learned to fly with this plane.  Can some tell me if they are available in India?

Scratch building'em shouldn't be an issue, however today afternoon this one will go live (http://www.rcdhamaka.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3_46&products_id=1140&zenid=5fdrrofj3ra05247grpcuuqdn7) at rcdhamaka.com, book it, else you will miss an opportunity. Prized at 5951 :Rs:, i think it is a good deal

Don't think this can be scratch built unless you have access to a an RX/ESC/dual servo micro board.  The Champ weighs 35 grams why is why minor crashes doesn't hurt it (very little inertia).

All you need is this module  (http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__17632__2_4Ghz_SuperMicro_Systems_JR_Module_.html)to go into your Tgy 9x 9xr radio
and this 2.4Ghz SuperMicro Systems - Receiver, Brushless ESC and 2 x Linear Servos All-in-one (5ch) (http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__18823__2_4Ghz_SuperMicro_Systems_Receiver_Brushless_ESC_and_2_x_Linear_Servos_All_in_one_5ch_.html)

This Double linear servo (http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__17638__2_4Ghz_SuperMicro_Systems_Double_Linear_Servo.html) to add two aileron

This is not a bad motor (http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__6744__AD_100L_Micro_Brushless_Outrunner_1850Kv.html)

Of course no pain option is this J3 Cub (http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__18872__Hobbyking_Micro_J3_Cub_450mm_w_TX_Lipo_Prop_RTF_.html)

Aditya (Adiboy) in India should be able to source it for you. Master Micro modellor is Sandy (Sundaram) he should be able to guide you into scratch building if you are going that way. all you need is some foam disposable plates.

Thanks for the links.  I see what you mean that it can be built and stay lightweight too! I have two of the Hobbyking J3 Old Timer Cubs and they are a lot of fun but that size is not practical for training (too much damage in case of crash).

You're right.  I checked with a second computer.  You have to have an account like hobbyking in order to see the reduced price.

It uses a one cell lipo.  If you take care of it and not let it overdischarge, it can last 200 cycles or more.  Flight times are 5 to 9 minutes depending on speed.  I order extra lipos for Rs 70 each from Hobbyking.  The battery is external or removeable.

How?  There's no plane to pick up.  Agent 47 has it.  The posts ended in September 2013 then 8 months later, someone will pick it up.

Sorry I updated wrong thread instead of the recent one on which u put that champ on sale. I wanted it coz I already have one which was extensively used and had suffered few crashes and worn out. No worries will try to import few spares or new one
