Hi All,

I am beginner to forum and flying.

I am confused about how to start, I got two expert opinions one is 1) start with simulator .
here I have few questions a) I checked in rcbazar the simulator is out of stock it cost rs 710/= , and they suggested me to get one transmitter price around rs2100/=. can I use this transmitter for real flying? Means to other planes I am going to purchase in the future.

Second expert opinion i got today was buy a balsa wood plane and then get expert training (rs 28500/= for flight +14% tax and trainer cost 4000/=) with 12 days training on Sundays. The fuel cost for the flight is extra. They said I will crash, but we will teach u to repair and fly.

Which one is best? 1) Simulator 2) wood plane?

Welcome to the forum skrishna. I was exactly in your state 3-4 months back. Today I have easy star model which I fly and also built blue baby model. Here is how I went about it:
Step 1: Read on different forum as much as I could (gain knowledge).
Step 2: Bought All in One simulator from RC Dhamaka and DX6i transmitter. Started practicing on the SIM.
Step 3: Visited Hoskote where people come for flying.
Step 4: Bought easy star model which is an ARF and started flying. It was a smooth transition for me.
Step 5: Built blue baby from the plan available on the net. Currently flying both models.

Hope it helps you.

Hi skrishna,
Welcomed to the forum

I would suggest you to go for the simulator and then once you are confident enough, you can either build a high wing trainer such as the blue baby etc, or buy a trainer model and start off also. You can go through Rcindia Gems and wiki, most of your doubts and confusions will be cleared. Get in touch with RcBazaar, they'll help you in sourcing materials etc for your first build.

High spirits we have: gravity we flout.

Shocked
Stay away from this option this is just absurd and expensive. As people have pointed out first step is to read the info available on the forum then may be visit you local flying field.
BTW can you tell us who gave you this advice (option no.2)?

My Recent Buy ThunderTiger 1/10 SSK V2 Nitro Truck

buying a real trasmitter, practice on simulator is good solution as per my suggestion, because it give you real feel when you hold real Tx and also it for real flights, when you purchase RC Heli/Plane with Rx.

and ofcourse, as SunLikeStar  said second option is not good, specially for Beginners, mean investing hell lot of money.

it is obvious you will crash, but best thing in this is you will learn by your own or through expert people advice, here and other blogs.  Thumbs Up
