One step at a time :)

Hello, welcome to the hobby!!
Don't go for the rcb-6i. Its a piece of utter junk!
Go for the FS-i6 if your budget is below 5k.
The next best radio is the Taranis QX7 in the 12k range.
(three available in the for sale section on RCI for 9K: http://www.rcindia.org/for-sale/frsky-taranis-qx7/)
I dont know anything about flying places in Mumbai. Cant help you there. sorry.
Regards

Strong words. Need justification.
Newbies in our group are using without any problem.
You may remember that in a recent thread, one of the critics admitted having no personal experience but was only going by heresay!

Supporting data for your opinion would help people decide on merits...

Well;
I have many point to say so;
1) the gimbals are of useless quality
2) the offered feautres are too less as compared to fs-i6
3) I and 2 other members have lost signal at close proximity with the RCB6i
Overall, the build quality is quite low too.
The number of feautres offered by the i6 far surpass the RCB6i

@mujjo91,
Your model can be flown successfully and safely with the most basic of RCs, costing about 3000 new or 1500-2000 second hand.
Second hand RCs should only be bought from people you know personally, or at least by reputation.
The higher your budget, the more features you can get.
While features like servo reversing, end point adjustment will definitely be useful (though not essential), more channels, more model memory, mixing programs are not needed unless you are planning ahead to more sophisticated setups.

@mujjo91,
Many many years since I’ve been at Mahalaxmi. My friends who used to fly there are long gone too.
Suggest you go there next Sunday morning and talk to the flyers.
Taking your model along (even without RC) may help  Grin

Pl start a new thread “How to fly at Mahalaxmi Race Course?”
That may get you an answer.
Best wishes.
Regards

I understood that, but I don’t know which ones are you comparing?
Anything that can start a tuned engine 5-6 times, or last for 10-15 minutes while trying to start an untuned engine, without needing recharge or change of battery, is okay.
Try to avoid depending on dry cells. Any of the nicad or lipo based ones should be ok.

Hi sir sorry for a delay replay I have gone through all the posts in which I don't understand why people are not suggesting you to have practice flying on a simulator instead putting your model in danger you can first do a thorough practice on the sim then once you are confident  you can take on the field with a good and experienced pilot that is how to do with this hobby this hobby is very good for all age but it takes a lot of time and money to keep it alive so us your time & money wisely and coming to the other question on the radio the above mention radios both are not that good radio for flying gas planes both are open source Tx and don’t have many options for flying gas planes spend little more and get a good radio like Futaba, JR, Hitec or Spektrum this is more reliable and spending on good quality radio is one time investment if you want to continue this hobby if you are flying electric any radio can do I prefer you should go for all electric to start of even if you crash the damage is minim and easy to rebuild also, rest everything is up to you I am just sharing my experience.
Happy flying

To read and understand that one sentence reply, I had to break it up into smaller bite size chunks:

Hi sir
sorry for a delay
replay  Head Scratching
I have gone through all the posts in which I don't understand why people are not suggesting you to have practice flying on a simulator instead putting your model in danger
you can first do a thorough practice on the sim then once you are confident  you can take on the field with a good and experienced pilot
that is how to do with this hobby
this hobby is very good for all age but it takes a lot of time and money to keep it alive
so us  Head Scratching your time & money wisely
and coming to the other question on the radio the above mention radios both are not that good radio for flying gas  Head Scratching planes
both are open source Tx  Head Scratching
and don’t have many options for flying gas  Head Scratching planes
spend little more and get a good radio like Futaba, JR, Hitec or Spektrum
this is more reliable
and spending on good quality radio is one time investment
if you want to continue this hobby
if you are flying electric any radio can do
I prefer you should go for all electric to start of
even if you crash the damage is minim and easy to rebuild also,
rest everything is up to you I am just sharing my experience.
Happy flying

I guess the original poster understood your msg, as he didn’t raise any doubt.

Hence my confusion must be due to my advanced age!
Perhaps what was meant was ‘practise on a simulator and start with an electric’.
That is good advice.
Could have been said in only 9 words though!
Regards to both bijo and mujjo91.

Your query needs to be in the public domain, so that you get more responses than just mine.
So posting here.

hav purchased below Items, Please let me know what else would i need to complete my rc palne for flight.

1 x Phoenix Paragon .46~.55 High Wing Trainer
1 x ASP S52 AII
1 x BL 10.5 x 6 Propeller
2 x BL 11.5 x 6 Propeller
5 x Hitec HS-425BB Standard Deluxe BB U
1 x GP1 Multi Glow Plug For 2 Stroke And 4 Stroke
1 x Hitec Switch Harness (S) = Rs.275.00
2 x JR EXTENSION #22AWG - 12 Inches / 30 cms
1 x FS-i6 Tx/Rx. (4 cell inc)

1)what else i required for assembly??
2) how to connect servo to Rx??
3) which Power pack should i use for Rx and Servos?

Preliminary answersi
1. Fuel. Fuel pump. Filter.
2. Check Tx/rx manual. Usually negative to outside of case. If you want to know which servo to which channel, then its too early for you to be in this activity. Usually aileron on Ch 1, elevator on 2, throttle on 3, rudder on 4.
3. About 1000mah 4.8v Nimh pack

Let members respond.
I’ll be back tomorrow

Glow plug spanner (using nose pliers not a good idea)
Allen key set for grub screws (in wheel collars, pushrod stoppers etc)

A Flight Simulator. Not essential, but desirable.

Ping me when you’re online.
I’ll tell you the single most important thing you need!

The most important accessory you need is AN INSTRUCTOR!

I think you have collected most of the stuff reqd for an ideal training setup.
PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FLY YOUR 52 powered Paragon BY YOURSELF!

More after I finish dinner

Buddy, for nitro better pickup at least a frsky.
Qx7 is a good idea, and there's a guy selling them on the forum.
Can also get Spektrum/ jr or Futaba.
Spektrum has good budget radios now, although Frsky is better  bang for the buck and cheaper rxs too.

You may want to learn flying first on an electric high winger, unless you can get someone to help setup and to help you learn flying on your nitro.

Keep calm and fly safe.

Wrt the first reply...i have used the rcb6i for 2 years...not a single problem in flight...worked like a tank.
BUT .it looks fat and clunky( yeah looks are subjective)
It costs more than fsi6 .. rcb6i might have lesser range??!!!...

Has fewer features... Less easily available spares....
Fsi6 is just more easy to suggest.
Also if you can-- go for the taranis qx7.. as suggested ..
Safe flying . Have fun in the hobby.

P.s ur post rouses my curiosity....
You are completely new to the hobby? Nitro as first choice?...
Nothing wrong with that ...some people can pick up the skills quick...but crashing it will be ....ouchh.
Do get a  exp guy on the maiden
