Title: Incorporating Landing Gears
Post by: tejasmehrotra on March 23, 2011, 08:46:08 PM
How does one go about incorporating landing gears in an RC airplane? PS - I have wheels with me.  ;D

not sure what the question is. Are you wanting to know how to build the landing strut or how to fix or where to fix etc. Please elaborate

Thanks so much for your reply. I want to know both - how to make a landing strut myself, and also, how to fix it with the fuselage.

Appreciate it. :)

The most common mechanism of making a landing strut is using steel spring/piano wire and bending it as per desired shape. If you have a tail dragger then the main landing wheel pair is placed just below or slightly in front of the LE of the wing and the rear wheel at the edge of the fuse.
Regarding how to fix it depends on the type of materials used, but needs to be reinforced. LEt me see if I can pick up some pics of what I do
