Not sure if such combos are available.  The cheapest radio + receiver will be Rs.2000 as of now, check RCBazaar.com

The rest of the electronics and lipo battery plus simple charger will most likely consume the rest of your budget.  Being an engineering student, you can build planes using local materials, which would will allow you to enjoy this hobby within your stated budget.

PS: If anyone else is aware of a combo in this budget, please post it here.

Post by: naatumach on June 25, 2011, 10:46:22 PM
I know you want arf but i have no idea where you can find something in that price range

This is what i would recommend
EMAX CF 2805  :Rs:396
http://www.rcdhamaka.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=100_93&products_id=760
Aeolian S0009 9g Servo (Qty 2 or 3) (minimum 2) :  :Rs:150*2 = :Rs:300
http://rcbazaar.com/products/794-aeolian-s0009-9g-servo.aspx
EMAX CF2822 FULL COMBO  :Rs:960
http://www.rcdhamaka.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=100_93&products_id=475
EMAX EP1060 DD 10x6 PROPELLER  (for this cost i'd recommend qty 10):Rs:24.40*10= :Rs:244.0
http://www.rcdhamaka.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3_48_80&products_id=754
FS-CT6B 6ch 2.4GHz transmitter & receiver  :Rs:1970
http://rcbazaar.com/products/396-fs-ct6b-6ch-24ghz-transmitter-receiver.aspx
TP 20C 1000mAh-3CELL 11.1V  :Rs:698.80
http://www.rcdhamaka.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=102_94&products_id=432

Total 1970+244+960+300+698.80 =  :Rs:4172.80

Building Material:
You can go for coro or depron. I have worked on both and i prefer depron over coro.
You can buy depron from Dhiraj. But i understand he has had given some problems but im satisfied with him. You can find him some where in rcindia he goes by the name dhirajjadhaodhiraj

Now design:
I made two models in the past month and im more satisfied for the first model than the second one. You can check it out  on http://www.rcindia.org/self-designed-diy-and-college-projects/first-flight/

If you go for the that one you'll need just a few more things, which i will not impose until you choose to make it.

Title: Re: Looking for beginner setup
Post by: rohitgupta322 on June 29, 2011, 10:32:06 PM
For that budget you can only manage electrics. Get a sheet of coro(you might be able to procure it for free) and build the extra 300 profile plane, plans widely available on the net. Buy the electronics widely available with so many LHS's. You will be able to build a plane in that budget. Whether it will fly/you can fly depends upon how well you build it, and how much have you practiced flying on the sim. I exclusively fly electrics, and I love them.

Title: Re: Looking for beginner setup
Post by: naatumach on June 29, 2011, 10:47:13 PM
Im also very comfortable with electrics, i havent had much experience with nitro i have only flown a control line once, but for a tight budget electric is the way to go

Check with Anam (www.rchobbyaddict.com) as far as I know, he is about to offer a Coro ARF kit similar to the Extra 300 SPAD for a competitive price. It is Receiver ready and requires just a LiPo snd your own Tx/Rx to fly.

Everything else ( Props and prop saver / ESC/ Motor/ Servos/ C/F rods and Control Linkages / horns / rods)  are included in the ARF kit.

All the best Anam!!!

You can try this
http://www.rcindia.org/self-designed-diy-and-college-projects/scratch-build-ezfly-3ch-trainer/

It is a 3channel trainer the total cost is Rs 4700/- including the radio. I have just made changes to the plan and increased the wing size to 39inches , now it flies like a glider. If you want I can send you the complete plan in coral draw format which you can cut yourself or get it cut trough cnc router.

Title: Re: Looking for beginner setup
Post by: KALYANPRODHAN on June 30, 2011, 01:07:14 AM
Can I request experts the consumables cost for nitro  plane?
As far as I know, After building, Battery is only need recharge and much cheaper. Moreover, Larger capacity cell and Motors are available now a days much cheaper.

And it is clear that Price war has began in Electric RC. Very soon, IR indoor plane would be available like Rs. 600/- IR Co-Axial Heli.

I Recommend, buy a Analog joy-pad (Rs.200-400), Practice on Simulator Softeare and read the write ups on this forum and wiki and follow related links. Just building and flying can ruin your hard earned money and may generate anger. Your pocket money will be inceased and buy a Tx/Rx with mix function like turnigy 9Ch. (You can practice on Tx/Rx too with sim cable which is much better, but  reflex with visual synchronization is required which can also be made in Joy-Pad but fine adjust will definitely require practice on Sim by Tx/Rx).

And finally made EP300 like large plane (Slow Flyer) with coro that will make almost nondestructive.

Ady, you won't need any other electronics apart from the stuff you've mentioned. But like Kalyan sir says, PLEASE make sure you read a lot about all of them before you buy them or start constructing your plane. You'll also need building materials, hand-tools, power-tools etc.

That depends on your budget. Have you purchased anything yet?
(And don't call me 'sir' dude, I'm still in my twenties!) :)

Title: Re: Looking for beginner setup
Post by: Swapnil on June 30, 2011, 08:26:15 AM
Look, when you've gone through enough threads and tutorials you won't have questions related to selecting power setup and such.
As everyone has suggested, building a plane will be easier on your wallet as compared to buying an ARF. Even if you go for an ARF, do read a lot about handling the electronic parts before buying it.
Reading is boring, but otherwise you might end up in a total mess.

Depron can be cut using laser and CNC. You can also use a hot-wire bow.
It's really easy to build. Search for 'Hot-wire foam cutter' here or on google.

Also, have you considered coroplast? It's cheap, durable and can be cut easily using a small cutter or pen-knife.

@Ady - Simulator Practice is the key. Like all the experts say try to get analog joypad or a basic 6ch RC from Rcbazaar or any other LHS's and put in weeks of practice in flying...in the meantime go through different topics in this form, start with the RC-India Gems , find out people who regularly fly in your area and try to meet with them, trust me that will give u a whole new platform and idea to start of in RC after about a month or so. Then u can source all the electronics and scratchbuild your first trainer...

Please dont be in a hurry. Decide clearly what u want to do, then source them. Once u get the depron sheets , yourself will understand how to use them. Go step by Step. Or else you'll just be emptying your pocket for nothing!!

Give ur views on this and(tell me the scale as well) and also tell that can i cut depron sheets from knifes-Ok guys can i convert the normal dimensions of a Cessna 152 by n times than change the CG and other things acc to site by Swapnil and get the neccessary motor rating from the same site(adamone.rchomepage.com)

Yes, you can use a knife but something like a stanley-cutter would be better.
Ady, instead of trying to scale down a cessna, why don't you try a simple SPAD? It'll be much less headache!

@Swapnil but the wing seems so big doesnot it?

Title: Re: Looking for beginner setup
Post by: Swapnil on June 30, 2011, 07:39:23 PM
That's O.K.
For your 1st build, you should be more concerned about building it properly and learning to fly!
Later on you can build a more aesthetic plane.

Do you have a RC flight-simulator?

Title: Re: Looking for beginner setup
Post by: Swapnil on June 30, 2011, 08:07:40 PM
And, I'm not suggesting you to build the exact 'ESPA3D'. I posted the links to show you how easily you can build a plane out of coro.
First determine the dimensions of the plane using info from:
http://adamone.rchomepage.com/design.htm

Decide the wing area (and hence chord and span) according to the motor you are going to use.
For example:
For a 160-170 watt motor, wing area = 300 - 450 sq. in.
For a 300 watt motor, wing area = 400 - 500 sq. in.
etc....

Is coro more simpler and flexible than depron?

no coro is actually that you see in add boards

Title: Re: Looking for beginner setup
Post by: Swapnil on June 30, 2011, 08:21:26 PM
I haven't ever used depron so can't tell you the differences. Wait for a senior to answer that...
Personally, I think coro is really easy to work with and almost indestructible! My 4mm coro plane crashed last week from a height of 20 ft. and there was hardly a scratch on it!
If you still have doubt, check this out:

Title: Re: Looking for beginner setup
Post by: Swapnil on June 30, 2011, 08:28:45 PM
No but i know every basic of flight mechanics-

That's great dude, but a simulator will help you get a feel of the control surfaces. And most importantly you'll learn about the many situations that can lead to a crash. Also, you can learn a maneuver on sim before trying it on a real plane.

There are loads of sims available for free.
Also, try the RealFlight G5 demo, it's really good (and free). Here's the link:

Everything

Title: Re: Looking for beginner setup
Post by: Swapnil on July 01, 2011, 08:08:25 AM
Depron is stiffer than EPP but more breakable. EPP will take lots more abuse than Depron but is a little heavier.
Depron is used as the moveable surfaces in an otherwise EPP aircraft.
The advantage to Depron is that it can be molded into more complex and true shapes than EPP.

Coroplast is what we use for SPADs (Simple Plastic Airplane Designs). Coro is heavier than foam but is more resistant to wear and tear and hence can take more abuse.

Their price and availability depends on where you source them from. Just do a search here for more info.
For your reference, I bought a 3mm coro (6ft x 4ft) for :Rs: 250 and 4mm coro (6ft x 4ft) for :Rs: 350.

epp is not the beginners stuf and especially in terms of scratch building with it...you can compare epp with paper ...its virtually unbreakable but easily gets teared with a little bit of pressure  or impact...and needs alot of  proper structural inforcement

i can but how?

Title: Re: Looking for beginner setup
Post by: Swapnil on July 02, 2011, 07:45:29 AM
Well, it depends on what kind of planform and AUW your plane has.
So far, I've used coro, high density thermocol, plastic and small wheels from toy cars.

For coro wheels, cut circular discs of the required diameter and glue them together.
For foam wheels you can directly cut a wheel out of a foam block.
Plastic wheels are heavy but don't deform or wobble.

For axles you can use ball/gel refills reinforced with metal thread, kebab-stick etc. Also, you can use nut-bolts as shown in the pic.

Hope the below pics help you.

Title: Re: Looking for beginner setup
Post by: Swapnil on July 02, 2011, 08:00:52 AM
For lightweight planes with small props people avoid using landing gear to keep weight within limits. In such cases you got to belly-land the plane.
Also, a landing gear won't necessarily save your props (or other parts).
Try learning on a grassy/ paddy field so that you don't have to depend on a landing gear.

Ady, so far I've been posting replies hoping that a senior would join in after seeing my inexpert 'help'. That hasn't happened yet, so here's what I have to tell you: before you get too exited with RC, please consider the following.

The only bad thing about this hobby is that it is expensive. It can turn out to be much more expensive if you are a beginner and start all alone. Help over the internet can only be in the form of links or suggestions. The best way to start is with a guide/ mentor around you (say from your college or local RC club). If you try doing it all alone you might end up damaging your stuff and give up.

Below is a list of things you'll require for a scratchbuilt:

1] Electronics:

1)   BLDC (+props +prop adaptor)
2)   Motor mount
3)   ESC
4)   Servos
5)   LiPo
6)   LiPo balancer-charger
7)   LiPo charger adaptor
8 )   4 Ch Radio
9)   6 to 8 NiMh cells for Radio
10)    NiMh charger

2] Building materials and construction tools:

1)   Coro and/or foam
2)   Stanley knife
3)   Hack-saw blades
4)   5min epoxy
5)   CA glue
6)   Packing tape
7)   Fibre tape
8 )   Reinforcements (carbon fibre, bamboo-sticks, kebab-sticks, metal wires etc)
9)   Nut-bolts

3] Following are the tools/ materials you will find handy and in many cases absolutely necessary:

1)   Digital Multimeter
2)   Power drill machine
3)   Hand drill (spring loaded)
4)   Soldering Iron
5)   Glue gun
6)   Nose-plier
7)   Flat plier
8 )   Hobby screw driver set
9)   Rotary tool (like dremel or angle grinder)
10)   Hot-wire foam cutter
11)   Hot-air gun
12)   Big geometry set
13)   Bench-vice

4] And these are the things you should have in spare:

1)   Propellers
2)   Servos
3)   Servo extensions
4)   Slicone wire and connectors
5)   Heat-shrink tubes
ETC.

(I would also recommend a good pain-relief spray and pain-killers for all the back-ache and headache  ;) :P)

Now, the total cost of these things is freakin’ high (at least  :Rs: 15,000). That is why people start with ARFs to avoid all the headache. If you still want to build a plane yourself, please make sure that you go through loads of build-logs and tutorials before starting.

Good Luck!

@swapnil - That is an excellent listing of items needed to start scratch building :salute: :hatsoff:

@Ady - Now list out what all components from the above list u have acquired or have in possession already...
And i would suggest u to build a coro high wing trainer like the blue baby or similar and before that loads of practice on a simulator...
All the best

Nope!!! this is certainly not an 'essential' list. I have a lot less and I am building and flying.

One thing you need most is the passion and patience.

Title: Re: Looking for beginner setup
Post by: Swapnil on July 03, 2011, 10:21:29 PM
It's certainly not an 'essentials' list. I used the word 'handy' for most of the extras. Only the electronics + build materials would do. But some of the listed tools make the building process easier for a young beginner with no direct guidance.

Title: Re: Looking for beginner setup
Post by: adyonfire4 on July 16, 2011, 07:33:03 PM
And, I'm not suggesting you to build the exact 'ESPA3D'. I posted the links to show you how easily you can build a plane out of coro.
First determine the dimensions of the plane using info from:
http://adamone.rchomepage.com/design.htm

Decide the wing area (and hence chord and span) according to the motor you are going to use.
For example:
For a 160-170 watt motor, wing area = 300 - 450 sq. in.
For a 300 watt motor, wing area = 400 - 500 sq. in.
etc....
Ok man i have been thinking hard and came to the conclusion that i will make espa 3d(that link you gave earlier) out of coro and help me with the site you stated.

Hello folks

We i.e. my son ( he is 16)  and me ( I am an ancient :(  ) are looking to start this hobby - in the electrics side of things.

The way we see ourselves starting out is:

[Step 1]

Read as much as we can.

[Step 2]

Do the following concurrently/in parallel:

(1) Acquire a simulator to get a feel, albeit in a simulated environment.

(2) Acquire a Tx/Rx  -  Our line of thought is spend the money once to last us from begining the hobby to atleast an intermediate level. This means I do not wish to enter at the lowest level i..e 4 channels and then sell used and buy  anew. In this connection I have two questions:

{1} Is Turnigy Tx/Rx  VFM or Pennywise Pound foolish? I would appreciate inputs from Turnigy owners WRT to their satisfaction level with the quality of the equipment and it's repair-ability in India.

{2} Can this be used with FSM via a USB port?

(3) Acquire an ARF trainer or maybe attempt to build a trainer nd if we fail then buy an ARF trainer. Yes, we are aware a scratch build for an entrant is very ambitious and has higher probability of failure.

(4) Start scratch building after reaching a respectable level of flying skills if our initial attempt  at scratch building is a failure.

[Step 3]

When we have successfully concluded the above in say 2 odd years or so then look to progress towards better brands in equipment complexer builds etc.

Any critiques/inputs will be most welcome.

Thanks and Regards.

hi
i am thinking of mr moss, but is there any other alternative. i need something that will withstand the crashes.

also can rcforall guy offer that combo without the plane. i want to make something like towel or some other foam plane ( any suggestion on that).

Title: upgrades to mr.moss
Post by: karandex on April 29, 2012, 01:56:25 PM
i am a newbie, so i dont know at what scale the parts included in mr.moss are. i like to build lots of scrach build in future like nutball, towel and many more. so are these are parts up to scrach or any other parts i have to add to my order like spare props, extra battery, etc

Title: Re: Looking for beginner setup
Post by: karandex on April 29, 2012, 06:48:53 PM
I know you want arf but i have no idea where you can find something in that price range

This is what i would recommend
...
...
If you go for the that one you'll need just a few more things, which i will not impose until you choose to make it.

should i got for this kind of setup or bite the bullet and buy mr moss for rs.8k

Title: power system combo for generic types
Post by: karandex on April 29, 2012, 07:49:06 PM
can some one pro please suggest some ecs, battery, prop, motor combo for planes.

these can include, slow park fliers to 3d.
for scratch build small to mid etc

or just give some info about how to choose stuff.

because the thing i wont like to do is wait for charge so i will go for bigger batteries and keep multiple batteries in loop.(if somebody is doing such a thing please say how.)

please some one suggest should i get mr moss or any other custom setup.i am not happy with some of the parts which come with moss kit like battery and charget etc. i can spend up to 10k but i need a good setup. this may include the plane or not. if there any cheap foam plane for sale please suggest one.if it include motor and prop, great.

just tell me a setup to start under 10k

The Flyer - Please be patient. You cannot become a RC superstar overnight.
All of us have waited long waiting for that right plane/ tx to be offered. I know that wait for a 15 year guy like you is hard. When I was of your age, i too, wanted the world to bring down everything i need, and that too, immediately.
Please take time and have patience. You will get a good plane and setup for sure.
Regarding your requirement, i strongly suggest going in for a 3 channel plane and that too a high winger (wings on top of fuselage). As discussed earlier over phone and PM, please wait till roopesh sir complete SUSAN, a perfect beginner plane.
I have seen people quitting this hobby after they broke their first plane in the maiden, not due to negligence or newbie experience, but only due to wrong plane selection. I myself ended up saying goodbye to this fantastic hobby for 1 year after i broke the first plane bought over ebay for around 6000 bucks in 2008-09.
Further, TX (transmitters) will be coming in stock by June 1st week ,as i understand, at various LHS (Local Hobby Shops). And its Mid may already.
In a nutshell, keep the eyes and ears open, do visit this forum regularly for updates.
And yes, have you contacted Vineet (Hobbysea) and SAI (RCBHARAT) for begineer planes. Try to buy a plane with larger wingspan and probably made of EPP for easy repairs.
Best of luck and welcome to the world of RC Hobby!!!!

Hi.
I want to buy a plane for someone who is a beginner. So i want a plane which would fly really well but will only require a basic set of skill levels. Also I don't want a plane which would take too long to put together or will be too hard. And finally my budget is not over 20,000 INR. So can someone please give me some suggestions fast since his birthday is really close by. I really need your help as I myself do not know the first thing about RC planes.

Also I have posted an image of the plane, I think its Tiger Trainer mk3. Can someone please tell me how it is?

Thanks for all your help.

Ricky -

Welcome to RC India :)

Please do not post in other threads about your question.  I have moved it to this thread, which already discusses your question.

First of all, please see our general advise to newcomers here about buying stuff and getting into RC.

Hello,
Mr. Moss is a very good beginner plane. I had build one and organised a workshop on it too. Almost everyone was a beginner in that and they made the model successfully and flew it too. You can see it is in yellow in the pic. The kit for this is easily available at muav.in
If you want to go with other models like easy star, skysurfer you could go ahead with them. Very good glider models. The RCB6i radio is a good one with numerous features. Now, you'll have to decide which model you want. Also, a small suggestion kindly invest for a simulator too for learning some basic flying.
You could visit:
rcdhamaka.com
rcbazaar.com
muav.in

TxRx from RC Bazaar 2998, Trainer kit + electronics from Vortex 2000+2000.
Ie, 7000+ postage.
And you will still need 2 batteries and a charger.
Second hand from a known person may be the only option.

Scratch building is not the best thing to do when you are just entering the hobby . You should buy a 'sky surfer' type of an aircraft and then move up , you should gain some basic knowledge about aerodynamics as it will help you alot . Although IMO without practicing on the simulator you would be wasting your time in the field , if you can get a sim like real flight 7 etc .

Title: Re: help
Post by: shobhit17 on October 15, 2014, 07:28:54 PM
Every plane if not flown properly falls to the ground.... the world is just like that..... even if you know how to build a plane and fly it scratch built ones very very often fall to the ground and they do not want to fly.

Moral of the story is..... buy a proven model or a kit and make is as per the specifications.... Read some aerodynamics as to why does and aeroplane flies..... Learn how to fly on a simulator...... Look for a mentor to take you to the field for the first time and fly your model for you...... learn from him.

That's how..... it is done.

No cakewalk for a newbie.....

Title: Re: Looking for beginner setup
Post by: sooraj.palakkad on November 23, 2014, 07:14:50 PM
What do you mean by motors getting faster ? , is the quad gradually climbing at fixed throttle ? then it is fine.

But if motors go up to full throttle, with out movement in throttle stick , that is a problem.

Title: Re: Looking for beginner setup
Post by: neil on November 23, 2014, 09:24:28 PM
Motors are moving at a defined speed when throttle is pushed up to some limit but when throttle is left at that position the motors tends 2 move little more faster after sometime

Title: Re: Looking for beginner setup

Post by: SK1701 on November 25, 2014, 06:57:44 PM
I think this belongs in a separate thread. Anyway, my advice for problems with the kk 2.1 is:
1. Check your firmware version. The latest is 1.19S1. If it is out of date update ASAP.
2. Run a factory reset and calibrate your ESC, run the ACC calibration
3. Do a receiver test. Check that the max values when you move the sticks are between -90/-100 to 90/100. For the throttle it should be between 0 and 100. Adjust your trims if needed
4. Check things like your stick scaling, transmitter expo/ endpoints.

We also need complete details of the setup- Tx, motors, ESC, frame.

hello bro... welcome to Forum. you can get propeller and motors on any hobby site,  first which prop do you want .(size pitch etc..) which motor you want to use brushed or brushless motor... first check these perimeters what type of setup you need and than check these sites you can get almost everything on these sites.  quadkopters.com , rcmumbai.com , rcbazaar.com
good luck.

Many Thanks for all,  Information helped me a lot.  Many Thanks once again.

1.    I got an issue when selecting motors for the UAV model which weighs around 3 Kg.  Difficult to find the motor which can be fit into the 75mm tube.  Please help me to find out the motor & propeller spec needed to propel the 3 Kg plane model.

2.    Can it be possible to try 2 or 3 motors with propeller blades to propel the 3 Kg model.

Well 3 KG is a huge Weight. But one can only help you in a better way if You tell what exactly you are going to build. Half information will only lead you to Half Solutions. BTW since KK Sir is watching this post, so I am not using any short word.

where are you in chennai and why do you need to fly 3kg model!!!
depending upon the situation you can,
go for nitro models,
take to multirotors
or try lightening your load.

option 3 is cheaper and a bit difficult.!

Dear friends,

Thanks to this thread and discussion  I who has no prior rc flying experience but very keen to take on this hobby, have zeroed down on the following planes as my first plane to buy. Would be grateful if anyone of you could fine tune this list so that I could zero down on my first plane that would get me started. For me the following are some considerations i.e. no prior flying experience, easiest to fly, easy to maintain, availability of spare parts for repairs etc. Would be grateful for any help and further advice. Title: Re: Whole electric system for my aircraft.

Gee ashwini06 you're asking for someone to supply a complete shopping list. You'll never learn anything about components if you rely on this sort of thing. If six people made you a list very little would be the same. If you are really interested in the hobby you should learn to study such things.

I'm not wanting to sound rude but it's relatively easy to read the build logs on places such as RC Groups. It will give you pointers on what you'll need. It's far better to make your own list and simply ask if people agree with your choices. I don't know where you want to buy these parts, if it's HobbyKing, go to their site and check out the various motors, from that you can read the maximum current it needs and buy a suitable ESC. From the motor size it's easy to read which prop is suitable and from that you can figure out which battery you need.  Are you ready to spend big and buy expensive parts or are you on a tight budget. If  the answer is the latter then buy on price. Grab the cheaper 9gm servos and nylon rather than carbon fiber props. Is your plane a pusher, if so you need a specific type of prop.

Simple deduction, basic electronics and common sense is all that's required to get your own shopping list together. To expect someone to spend his time doing all your work is a big ask. Show you're interested and people will be more inclined to assist you. Please don't get upset about what I've said. I'm only trying to make you a better RCer.

Good Luck ... Stu

@ashwin06
Didn't expect such a question from you.
Are you not the person who posted this message?
@Mr. Iyer,
Reynolds number is used to determine whether a flow will be laminar or turbulent. If Re is high, inertial forces dominate viscous forces and the flow is turbulent; if Re number is low, viscous forces dominate and the flow is laminar.
Reynolds number is important in wind tunnel experiments since it relates to the aerodynamic properties of lifting surfaces, such as airfoils, when extrapolating from small wind tunnel test models to full-size wings. Reynolds discovered that, if the same atmospheric pressure were used for experiments with wind tunnel models as a full-size aircraft would encounter under actual conditions, the experimental results would be invalid.
So this term will come in use when i shall go through my model analysis with wind tunnel.

Personally I'd go for a 2200mah 3s lipo. They are by far the cheapest battery on a bang for buck scenario and I think you'd find a 1000Mah far too restrictive in air time. The suggested motor draws a peak of 10 amps. I'm interested in what you actually ordered Ashwin and see how you went in your search. Please post a list of what you decided on. Stu

If you push you budget by rs 1000 you would be able to get a fsth 9x(same as turnigy 9x) 9 channel radio...get those as you proceed with the hobby you will be able to do modification and get a performance of a good radio
Just google Turnigy 9X mods you'll get it  ;)

Turnigy 9x can be modified by adding Frsky modules
That way you have the ability of telemetry and a solid reliable link(Frsky has excellent reception no problem with loss in signals)

hey there!
if you are looking for ready to fly or arf kits
and under 5000 INR then
you should try something like 3ch parkflyer plane from the rcbazaar.com
that looks like the hobbyzone champ
and if you want a bigger plane than that one then i sorry my friend but you'll have to extend your budget limit
hope this was helpfull
and if you have anymore queries you can message me

Hi u have to increase your budget as only the transmitter and lipo will cost you around 5000.  for a plane u need 2 servos, 1 esc with bec,  lipo battery, bldc motor, propllers etc foam board as well.

Title: Re: Looking for beginner setup
Post by: prabal276 on August 08, 2016, 06:37:31 AM
A b3 only charges the lipo. I have one spare with me.
While a b6 or higher balance charges the LiPo.
It ensures that all cells are at equal voltage.
B6 is healthier for the long run and it also gives the option of charging to your desired specs and other types of charging modes are also available.
I have spoilt one 1000mah lipo with a b3.
Plus in a b3 the rate is fixed at 800ma . It will take a long time to charge a bigger lipo.

Hello Guys,
I am looking to buy a nitro RC car/buggy. I have visited a couple of stores in Bangalore(Modelart/RCBazaar). Also checked out products from online India/International(Checked out the mega-list from this forum :)). I haven't been able to narrow down on a particular brand/model.
My basic requirements are as follows -
*Should be wallet friendly, since this will be my first nitro RC. Looking somewhere around 25k.
*Easily available spares. I hear there will be lot of wear and tears initially when you are a newbie, so would like to go for a product with easily available spares(at least the regular wear n tear parts)

Any suggestions is appreciated.

Yes it should be same voltage and APM. You must charge each cell seperately eg:3.7 v mobile charger

Title: Re: Looking for beginner setup
Post by: AL HAM SHARI on November 01, 2017, 05:59:44 PM
I didn't get what you meant , but you can charge a Loop with any adapter that is compatible with the voltage of a single cell in the battery and also , you should use a charget of correct milli amps. On the side of DC , the battery is in DC so you should charge with a DC current source. I don't know what an AC adapter is but DC adapters convert AC from mains to DC current. So, did you mean DC adapters? P.S:I have used an adapter for charging my Lipo.

Bro I have that same TX , And that tx sucks. Flysky is a turnigy clone from China. It's better if you buy a better transmitter from a brand lik frsky , frsky is 1000x better than flysky. I'm not talking about its power. It's the durability and the firmware.

You are from Delhi as you post.
Think there is at least one if not more RC clubs in your area. Go talk to them and get the best feedback as to what is available and what they recommend. Try your best to get one of them to mentor you, do not attempt to go at it alone as a beginner. One then spends a lot of money and gets frustrating for a beginner. Please Do not ask me how I know that.

Good luck

Then you can fly RC Jets anywhere:

The rest of the electronics and lipo battery plus simple charger will most likely consume the rest of your budget.  Being an engineering student, you can build planes using local materials, which would will allow you to enjoy this hobby within your stated budget.
