Good decision

What sort of help do you need ?  Finding parts ?  How much of it are you planning to scratch build ? There are already many threads here about starting in RC on a budget.

If your questions are more specific, everyone will be able to assist you much better :)  So please mention what items are you specifically seeking assistance on.

Hi,
Anwar
Tnx for showing interest in my topic. As it si going to be my first I have decided to go for delta model and wil be able to do the wings and other things but I need a lot of help on area of wing required and where the weight managment and usefull information. I have wound cdrom motor which has 18mm stator but I dont know where to arrange the magnets from and why is seperate magnets required why cant it go with the existing magnet in stator but I am heading for other parts I am interested in buying a used radio and other parts respectively. so if any can help with that also.

If you are building a delta wing for the sake of simplifying your effort and investment, remember that you may need a radio with "elevon" mixing (or get a hardware mixer).  Most standard radios have this feature but not the simple 4ch ones.

It is great to know that you are building a cd-rom motor  {:)}  The magnets have always been sort of a challenge (from what I have heard/read).

There is a wealth of information online with plans for delta wings of various sizes, with their AUW/payload capacity.  It may be simpler to base your first one on any of these plans, so that you have guidance on how to proceed step by step (and helps you answer question about wing size etc). You can always experiment (you should!) on your later models.  Of course, the fun in seeing a 100% self created craft is a whole another issue, which you don't get if you take short-cuts.

The ESCs we use are sensorless. They need the back emf induced on the windings to commutate. They don't work well with the weaker existing magnets.

Deltas are usually have higher roll rate and tend to be faster. Usually not a good choice as a first plane.

well well i will not suggest you to go flying with a delta model unless you have flown before, or you will be hitting your head against wall  :banghead: with the leftovers of ur model. If you are a beginner then go with some short of stable high wing model and get hold of flying before...
then you can fly along with delta after that.

if the cost is not a constraint, then the multiplex easystar or the multiplex mentor is a good option. the material and the flight characteristics are excellent! for glow model, mpowershopping seems to have a good 65inch ws high wing trainer.

this is a great spad trainer that u can scratch build from coroplast. I've built one myself and it flies like a dream. It is based on the trusted avistar model, so performs great.

hi,
Every body,
Thank a lot for the help with all that information.
But I think I have a soft corner for delta design and I have decided to go for it.
but its all waste until I start buying stuff, can some one suggest me with good and cheap beginner's radio. I know nothing about servos I mean how to decide which one.
You know fellows I have been thinking about this since long and now its show time.
Can u please suggest me a link where can I get the curcuit layout of the whole model.
I was planing to buy a combo pack of motor, ESC & propeller from Hobbycity Should I go for it or rc dhamaka would be better.

Guy's I am little bit puzzeled up, help me out :headscratch: :headscratch:

see yaa

Hello harsh,
which is the stable high wing model you refer to beginner?

if you wana start with glow powered airplanes then buy a hobbico nextstar and if you are a electric guy ... go with "multiplex easystar or the multiplex mentor" as suggested before hand.
get an futaba skysport fm 4ch, it will cost you cheap.... the whole setup can cost you 12k to 13k(approximation) if you are going with a decent electric motor , esc and a battery. then add the price of the transmitter to your rig....
what i suggest is to get a .15 size engine (2500-3000) then go with the transmitter and the model.

here is what ppl told me regarding electrics at INDIARC.
"Motor will cost u around Rs. 1500, ESC may be around 1000 or more, battery may vary from Rs. 1200 - 2000, you may need a good charger, it will again cost you from 2000-4000 (depending on the quality and performance, but if u go for good one it will be one time investment, and if ur serious about electric then go for good charger)"

Hi All

For the set up you have ... 2204-14 brushless, 10amp ESC, 850mah 2S1P battery, you can make a Trainer-1 out of Depron or Biofoam. Please see the attachment 'Salty_one_1_inch.pdf'
The Tx and Rx can be a Turborix or Flysky 4ch or 6 ch from RCFORALLIN. These are cheap... about Rs.3000.00 (please enquire with Mr. Sai) and they are quite dependable and legal (2.4Ghz) in India.
The servos can be 6gm or 9gm types also available with him. You may need to use a 8x6 prop.
Go for a good Tx and Rx only if you are sure of sticking on in this hobby for a long period.

The Tx and Rx from Turborix or Flysky  are Chinese, but we (Mr. Sai and self) used 37 of them in a workshop a week back where 36 Mr. Mosses were made and flown without any issues. The one remaining set had its esc and rx burnt out by the team making that plane when they inadvertently short circuited the system by connecting with reverse polarity.

Cheers and happy flying
