Great efforts!!!! would like to see it complete!!!!!
use 64 or 70 mm EDF unit with around 4000 Kv rating. u may require ESC of around 40A and battery 3s Lipo with min 1800mah ideal would be 2200, ofcourse with 30c rating!!!!!!!!

enjoy!!!!

Wow.. looks nice.. Is it normal thermocol? I guess u'll have to use carbon or something to strengthen it..

Post by: anwar on December 25, 2010, 03:45:26 PM
Along with carbon / kabab sticks etc, it would be a good idea to cover it with electric tape.  Thermocol doesn't take smalls dings lightly at all.

Try acrylics, they dont shedd off like others. (i cant tell you any expert advice)

If you really want some good paint job stick to Proline paint

Regarding motor, can u tell approx weight of your jet..?
Note- painting can increase the weight extensively. do make sure that you take a note on it.

weight is not too much just 250to300 gms without electric part. i want to know that how is spray colors

They are cool too, and wont weigh much if sprayed properly.

anyone please tell me 64mm edf with 4600kv out runner motor, 45a esc and 11.1v 2200mah 3s 20c battary is good for it or not...

Post by: atul_pg on December 31, 2010, 05:12:00 PM
My guess is it would require more than a 3S 20C battery. You would need to go for at least a 4 to 5 S with more than 35C..Just a personal opinion dude..

In btwn its come up very nicely. Good work

Great job... wondering how you got those jet exhausts in shape???
May be its just me or the picture is not clear but I think the horizontal stabilizers need to have to open up little more.. no?

I expect you have used compressed thermocol for the model.
For colouring, use only water based spray colours, reason being, your model may shrink due to solvents in  normal acrylic colors :banghead:.( you can see the result by applying a small amount of petrol on your waste thermocol >:D.)
. If you want to use acrylic, then test a fraction of colour on the leftover thermocol.Further if you want to have a glossy look, you can use water based acrylic colours used for glass paintings, which you can get from local stationary shops.
For painting, u can use mouth spray after masking the area not desired for particular colour, using paper. You can also use hand spray, even a soft toothbrush.
A mouth spray costs Rs 15.00
A spray brush costs Rs 30 to 35.00.

For further assistance you can call freely 09889394568

anwar sir i want to know that... i want to use 4600kv edf motor with 64mm edf, 45a esc and 11.1v 2200mah 3s 20c battery in this.    is this enough power for it. how much thrust it will be

I partly agree dude, what i think is that for efficient utilization of a 35c 2200 mah battery you will need atleast a 100A esc, thats just my opinion, sorry if i am wrong

Keep the good work.

I guess you have used the plan that is on www.parkjets.com

If not, plz do post a link here or the whole plan.
Thank you for that in advance.

hi
I think we can use round arches of PET bottles or Jars as cockpit.

Trial and error with different PET bottles and jars.

the plane crash in 1st flight,

is that the reason you are selling off all your stuff?

be that as it may

Few things i want to bring to the notice of the newbies

(a) Stick to simple plan (There are lot of thread, there i sone by Admin on which aeroplanes are good for beginners and which ones are not)

(b) Like Steve of RCpowers says Don't bother painting and beautifying the bird, fly it stock adjust , further work on it, later you can beautify. Why ? when a beautifies bird crashes in the first flight you are heart broken. that may cause you to leave the hobby

That piece of advice is worth a million bucks and I have learnt it the hard way. Making amends soon. I promise. I've seen this even in the simple chuck / catapult gliders that I conduct. People spend a lot of time decorating the plane when they should be adjusting dihedrals and CG. And when this gayly coloured bird dives into the ground and self destructs, aeromodelling becomes a waste of time and effort and a lame adventure.

Well said rcpilotacro! :salute:

Yes very truly said gusty sir,
For beginner efforts should be put on a simple plan and engineering part.....rather than colors & beautification.

Once it flies then color the way you want....
