Title: Motor and ecs help
Post by: Maheshwaran on November 29, 2014, 12:14:19 AM
guys plz help me find best motor for quad

i am having e max 2213 with 20 amps speed controller and have a 2200 mah 3s battery pack which i calculated i can only get 3 mins flight time in a 1045 prop

which motor consumes less power and can drive a multi rotor? and of course lesser the KV more the thrust but do high kv motor consume less power? need  :help:

The same motors can be used for making a quadcopter.
I think you calculated the flight time using max. current drawn by a motor, but usually we don't fly full throttle always right ?, so you will get near 10Min flight time.

Can you suggest some lowest current drawing motor known to you? Turnigy aerodrive 700kv according to me gives good thrust with 11a max current. Wanna know more motors for better comparison

Lower Kv motors with big props gives you more flight time,
btw, how much flight time are aiming to achieve ?

You may use a bigger battery to get more flight time than changing the motors.

Using a bigger battery is not always the best solution. Bigger batteries mean more weight and eventually, with a large enough battery, there may be no improvement in flight time. It is better to choose a battery based on your motor thrust.

I am going with my old 2200mah 3s battery no change in that but i need to improvise my motor segment i need avg power with  good flight time can high kv motor give good thrust and consume less power?

I am being practical aiming for around 6 min minimum flight time

You should use Lower Kv motors and slow fly props for max efficiency and thrust. .

But if you are beginning with quads, Cheap motors from 720 to 1000Kv range is best, which gives up to 10min flight with 3S , 2200mAh.
