Built my first flying... mmmm YES! Wing. Some 'hard' lessons learned.
1. It is NOT that easy Smiley  as I thought it would be, not to build one, but to fly it ( properly)
2. If you are confident in building/ flying  RC plane and wonder how you had begun RC flying; try building a wing. You'll start from day Zero.
3.If you build a wing out of depron, cover it with clear tape ( expect as many crashes)
4.Make such a wing so that you can hold its edge.
5 . Practice how to toss it properly before your first flight
6. CG is the most important part of a "flying" wing. Keep it a little more to the front than in a plane. ( I ignored this! before my first few attempts, and the wing flew back to me  Grin in a loop like a boomerang  Grin )

See the extra 500 mah lipo kept on the upper part of the wing, just to balance its CG. Could not record my flights. Will do it later after I practice more. Wink

Ok, after you build one, hold it by its side edge, give sufficient throttle so that the wing moves up, then release; if it is balanced well, it should fly.

If you have only one servo, that means you do not have independent control of the ailerons. This means you cannot use the elevons program available in most transmitters today. Ideally, you should have two servos each independently controlling each aileron. This should be connected to the first and second channels. Motor is connected to the third channel usually. If the elevon program is evoked on the transmitter, the up elevator on the transmitter would make the ailerons rise in sync, making the plane lift up. The aileron control on the transmitter would make the ailerons work like normal ailerons. Thus the wing will become very maneuverable.

Re:

Seems like magic that you flew with one servo. However a flying wing is little extra tolerant to cg changes. Also you can start learning from flying wing and not that difficult. Intact its very hard to break than conventional frame. I started flying from corro towel.
