I understand some these questions might have been posted .
Ive always wanted to get into r/c but ive always had some set back .
This time i am determined to get a model flying .
The most recent set back is that i bought a plane from rc bazaar
The micro j3 cub .I purchased whatever was recommended on their website .
The receiver and the battery refuse to fit in the model .
For their error they are offering me a discount on the next plane .
But from all the research the sky surfer again requires modifications and their other planes are either dynum or from banana hobby .
Im not sure which PNP kit to get next or whether to make my next purchase from them .
Any help would be appreciated

Pranav, I agree this is frustrating :but please try to take it in your stride  Thumbs Up

Measure the battery box, and ask fellow RCers on the site if anyone has one for sale

See how you can wiggle the receiver in

You should have got 2 props with the model. Again, ask on the site

All the best

Practice, and only Practice will make you perfect

pranav

i would advise you to get in touch with some senior modellors in the field and take guidance before jumping into buying aeroplanes, buying them is the easiest, getting the requisite skill is the most difficult part, do a lot of simulators and be patient, use search function read all relevant thread. any help after that, a lot of members are there there to help you

all the best

There are so many eager kids wanting to start the hobby but the RC stores and online merchants only want to push models that aren't really for beginners.

These model is made in China so I would think they would be available here.  I have taught dozens of kids and adults how to fly within 5 minutes using this model.

It's badly beat up now but still flies straight after almost three years.

Put some photos regarding the batter compartment , rx ,battery etc...so that it may be easy to help you..
Also make a list of questions / doubts whatever it may be and our fellow modellers will always be there to help you... Cheesy

Hey ,
I am sorry for being this disorganized.
I am just clarifying doubts as and when they come up .
I have fixed the installation of the receiver and the battery .
I was wondering if i could install a smaller 300 mah battery instead of 500 mah .
and secondly where i could get those props from .

Hey shauviks,
I found that website the problem is that in every place ive checked they are out of stock .
I cant find one store with them available .
Im fine with the reduced flight time ,
A smaller battery will make plane lighter and also easier to maintain since right now its all a tight squeeze.
Thank you
Pranav

I am using 6x3 props on my sky surfer. The stock propellers broke on my first flight. I bought 4 6x3E props from RCBazaar and they are working fine.

Regarding props, The first number is the DIAMETER of the imaginary disc created by the spinning prop i.e. the length of prop from tip to tip. The second number is the PITCH. The pitch measurement of a prop indicates how far that propeller will move through the air per single revolution of the engine. So, higher the pitch, the faster your plane will go. But BEWARE, if you use a prop which has more PITCH or longer DIAMETER than your motor can handle, then the motor (or ESC) might burn out.

Larger DIAMETER means more thrust. So a larger diameter prop reduces the engine’s RPM at any given power setting, because there is more for the engine to turn over and hence more work to do. And slower turning props generate less noise – therefore, larger diameter props run quieter than smaller diameter props, all else being equal.

In Sky Surfer, 6" props are the max diameter than can be fitted. And 6" props wont likely damage the motor/ESC as long as PITCH is low. So 6x3 or 6x4 should work fine. I use 6x3 to be on the safer side. It flies slower (pitch is low). But then, its a glider. You can buy these from RCBazaar or RCDhamaka. Additionally, if you can, then upgrade the stock ESC to a 40-50A one.

Hope this helps...(I guess you already got answers to all your problems in these 4 months. But still, thought of replying. This might be helpful to a newcomer).
