We(myself and my son) have made two balsa gliders from the kit sent by VC. Perticularly, Magpie is a fantastic glider. It has broken at 13 places but still flying. But we have a problem. We are quickly outgrowing these gliders. It has become monotonous to launch and see them gliding down. Any suggestions to keep our interests alive?? Any suggestion to convert these to RCs??

What duration are you getting from the glide? Look how you can increase the duartion, that should keep you occupied.
Or how far does it glide? Can it be trimmed in a manner that whitout decreasign the glide duration, it does not drift far off? Can you do it? What does it take, how can these be acheived?

Is your glide duration same in all kinds of wind and time of the day? How do you ensure that it is?

If you start thinking in these terms, I am sure it would teach you many things which many of RC pilots would never know and will keep your interest alive

The jugaad builder

add a small toy motor , or a micro motor with gears, skew the rudder and make it go in circles. This will work with the bigger chuck gliders like yellow bird. add a control line (i've never done it , but it should be fun trying to make it go in circles)
when you are bored of that, check out http://www.microflight.com/ and add some micro servos and recievers. good luck Smiley
