Post by: bulsquare on March 09, 2017, 10:20:38 AM
Hi Guys

I am new to RC Hobby, I just bought Avionics RCB6i and RC Flight Simulator Phoenix 5.
Connecting was simple. installing was also done but calibrating the rcb6i with simulator could not be done.
Can anyone help me out with some knowledge on how to calibrate the sticks and switches?

Regards and Thankyou to everyone who helps me out  :) :salute:

1) set your rcb6i to ppm out. Connect the ppm cable to the computer. And open phoenix rc.
2)on the top left corner, click system> setup new transmitter.
3)A screen pops up, click next, it will show some steps,
Click next, another screen with info..
Click next set all switches to off position. Click next.
4) centre up both your control sticks and click next.
Move both stick to thir extreme positions both up down and left right. Click next
Then move all the switches to their extreme positions. Click next.
5) in this window you can whether your controls are working. Yellow bar should move when you give control.click next.
6) it will ask you to create a profile for your transmitter.
Click next.
7) select "other" from list of transmitters. Click next. Click next. Type the profile name.
Choose quick or advanced. Click next.
8) Map all your channels according to their control.
Ex- on throttle channel, click "unmapped". A list opens.
Move your throttle stick, now you will see a bar moving in a channel, select that channel for throttle.
Do this for all controls.
If you want to reverse a channel, click on invert on that channel. CLICK "FINISHED".
9) IT will say you have successfully setup your transmitter
Click finish.
And you will be ready to fly.

Hope this helps.

Go over the instructions manual in the CD. There is another small file named "SALI" or something like that with a blue Icon which needs to be installed and run each time along with the Phoenix software only then your TX will be recognized in Phoenix. And make sure the slider switch on the dongle is on Phoenix.

Thank you Tushar50. It was great now i have my planes flying. Thank you again for a detailed solution i really appreciated it. but one thing i am unable to fly the copters only throttle is working i cannot get the copter to take off. is there a different setting for copters. as for now i have done setup of calibration in the advance mode and allotted four channels only ch 1 - aileron, ch 2 - elevator, ch 3 - throttle, ch 4 - rudder rest is left blank. can you help me on this?

Glad that it helped you.

For setting up copters
Got to system>your controls
Then select your profile and click edit profile.
A window opens up.
Select "detailed"
Scroll down to helicopters.
On top , there will be option as "collective pitch"  it would be unmapped by you. Open the list and move your throttle stick, whichever channel you see moving select it for collective pitch.
And you will be able to fly copters.
You can also add other options like idle up, throttle hold etc. For these options you can map the switches on your transmitter.

My pleasure.

It is a great way to learn by starting on simulators.
Happy flying and safe landing,
