see guys our budget is not very much.
we can afford things less then 5000 rs.
the links which amulu and anwar have give are very nice.
and yes pankaj you are right.
we are trying the same thing similar to a control line and anchoring the cord to a pole.
but to start its hard.
i am not understanding where to start from.
to design a foam model first or the electronics thing.
see people i am a total beginner so could you please use full forms i mean i don't know what is ESC, BEC etc...
frankly speaking i am a total beginner so please make it easy.

Learning to Fly

First things first.... (BTW, I am newbie in RC also). Lets get to figure out the controls and overall weight. At this point, start with the lightest plane possible. A generic rule of thumb is around 80-100W of power requirement for 500gm weight.

The main contributors to weight are a) battery and b) motor. These are also the more expensive of the items and have a direct relation to each other. ESC stands for electronic speed controller.

So scout around, find out a combo for motor/battery/esc that is light weight and well within your budget and then move from there.

RC India - Flying and racing with open minds !

If you spend a small bit higher, you can get a setup that can be used for a long time on any foam build you do (for example, see the link Sai posted, even though I did not see the servos in it).  Converting any 2ch car to a plane involves a certain amount of DIY work, and if you are not the savvy type for that line of work, frustrations await you (but some people enjoy it!). If you want to get to your destination faster, going for a proper combo makes all the sense, IMHO.

Please dont even attempt it, there are many guys around us, including me also who had tried toy grade RC transmitter and receiver into full controll hobby grade plane but which turns into bad idea.
this will give cost u pocket wise and moreover effort wise also.

try making SLOWSTICK foam plane from www.wattflyer.com [submitted by user chellie]
plane will cost u less than 200bugs, resale electronics buy from any hobbiyst
including
4channel tx and rx
3 servos
motor esc and prop
by this u can actually fly and enjoy
by the setup what are u r trying u can only try to takeoff and repair.

VTOL - Vertical Take Off & Landing

hey i am E.V.Subramanian and i live in navi mumbai call me at 9833036737 any time and i will help you in any mean possible.

i am not in much favour of the idea of using a cars system and instead of rudder being bent at an angle use throttle to adjust planes height and use the system for rudder as i strongly believe you must be able to steer your bird .

well try my previously suggested steup for even a low coster- use a directly powered 'always on' motor and use the two controls of a chinese car as rudder and elevator which can be controlled using two mini sized motors connected to the control surfaces using pen refill or some other thing

use 2 9v alkaline batteries used in transistor radios and costs rs 12 near my house to power the receiver and use 4 aa alkaline[twoo inside and two in the socket provided] for the tx
