Title: RC modeling intro lessons and flights in Bangalore and Chennai
Post by: RotorZone on July 08, 2009, 05:04:54 PM
I was reading in another thread about the high investment needed to start this hobby when people don't even know if they are going to like it. One of my friends had ideas to popularize this hobby by giving introductory lessons and flights for a nominal fee to cover the fuel and other expenses. If you get interested then you can invest in your own model. I got his permission to post his number here, you can contact Sashi @9902344448.

[Admin Note] The above information is for Bangalore only.  For Chennai, please see the post by "rcforall" later in this same thread.

Sunil, you should get trained ASAP, and offer the same in Kochi  :)

NB: Made the topic sticky.

Any one wanting  a similar situation could come over and try their hand on my good old battered but still going strong Multiplex Easy Cub on Sunday Mornings  for a start .

Once they feel they can handle it they could then invest on a set up . No charges for these  trail flights , just a way for prospective aero modelers  trying their hand on the real thing before proceeding.

Contact me on 09380577074.

Anwar please make this a separate info. thread  if you needed

If you are an ugly dork you'll be put on trainer cord and made to stand 2m away. If you are a good looking girl, hug method will be used.

What is the location where the training flights are given in B'lore?

I guess the location will depend on the day. I'm just the messenger here, I'm not the person giving the training. You'll have to call the number and talk to Sashi directly to work out the details.

Wonder if you will also bring a laptop loaded with one of the simulators, and have the person play with it for the first 15 to 30 minutes ?  ;D  :P

This is actually a dream of mine.. to have an instructor on a regular basis (bi-weekly atleast) to hangout here, so newbies can get trained. I may fly but can't train as yet. I can only motivate and share.

I live in a town where 3 clubs have gone under.

My Job - help learn via Sim and help buy a model - join me on a sunday on your own risk  ;)

Not sure about Sashi, been out of touch for a while now.  Why don't you join the folks who are flying at one of the fields there, just see this thread :

http://www.rcindia.org/rc-locations-and-clubs/mega-list-of-rc-fields-locations-clubs-in-india/

Jakkur is access controlled, so you might want to try one of the other places first.

AMA members are providing flying training for newbees at all locations listed on the website, new aspirants can contact us for details.

We have also contacted schools in Delhi to provide theory of flight ,introduction and glider construction to all levels,R/C aircraft can also be offered to senior students.

If any of the vendors are interested in making special offers for this cause,we will include their names in the literature we give and also their website address.

Let's make the hobby educative, affordable and enjoyable.

Folks, you can join us at Hoskote (see the location map : http://www.rcindia.org/rc-locations-and-clubs/mega-list-of-rc-fields-locations-clubs-in-india/ ).

There are bunch of newbies like me and experts like Ashta/Sharat fly.

People fly there week round, but if you happen to hit there early morning Saturdays, you can catch Ashta and on Sunday my with other fellow flyers.

Dinesh, please psot the pic of the plane  you have and the material its made of. Only then we can help you repair it. you can come down to my place on Sat (Kormangla) if you need other tools to fix.

you can go to jakkur air field on sunday morning and you will meet fliers there...

u have many people here if you search through the forum

more over a yak54 is not a beginner plane, for a person who does not know flying,

you have to go for a trainer plane which will be a better start

Title: RC Training for Corporate @ Bangalore
Post by: AviationManiac on February 05, 2013, 04:16:15 PM
Very Frankly... We have a hell load of models at my office ranging from Nitro to Gas to electric Helos and Fixed wings... amounting to a total of 15 models in waste. Recently we have recieved money and support from the leadership of the organisation to revive the long gone Aero-modelling club at my office. Being a simulator Instructor for Boeing 737, 767, Airbus 320 type in office for quiet some time. I have taken the charge of leading and reviving and hit a wall. I need to get the team of us trained on fabricating new models, reviving and maintaining new models, and flying them at-least not as an amateur. Some one told me about this forum, and now i am posting here to see if i can get training for the team of us.

I know it needs tons of practise to reach to EDF level..  Am looking for expert opinions so that I can quickly get started.. I need suggestions to buy a radio that will help both for a sim and flying purpose under 6k and also places where fliers meet so I can get some lessons.. Hoping for a positive reply and support...  :)

why don't you start with a trainer aircraft first? you have tons of RC stores in bangalore as far as i know...
you can contact them!
