Title: Started with a build recently, now ESC isn't getting configured.
Post by: kvedula_1995 on January 16, 2019, 03:10:37 PM
Hey forum,

As mentioned in the subject, I tried to bind the ESC with the motor, and according to few online videos, it should make a double beep and the fan would make a jerk motion, when transmitter throttle is calibrated, but what I am hearing is a single beep, the most probable guess would be that I have fried the ESC while in the process of soldering, since the Electrical Hobby guy recommended me 50W soldering iron.

To be precise.

https://www.amazon.in/Soldron-SI50A-50W-Soldering-Iron/dp/B017RGQ8RS?tag=googinhydr18418-21&tag=googinkenshoo-21&ascsubtag=_k_CjwKCAiAyfvhBRBsEiwAe2t_i0jpWM6mAUwTMR9odGW82IOWabKlZv2QndNV6BcipQs_TyF24KXWBhoCc0sQAvD_BwE_k_&gclid=CjwKCAiAyfvhBRBsEiwAe2t_i0jpWM6mAUwTMR9odGW82IOWabKlZv2QndNV6BcipQs_TyF24KXWBhoCc0sQAvD_BwE

and the operating tip voltage is around 450 deg C, and once I soldered I felt the warmth in the copper wire midway to the ESC and whenever I try to touch the wire which is either connected to ESC or Motor, let's just say the whole setup wire when moved, not sure which wire, the ESC makes a sound, its not a mandatory event, but most of the time it happens.

I have Fs i6, and my ESC firmware is SimonK.

Regards
Vedula

If you have accidentally fried your esc it would not beep even once. The initial beep sometimes denotes the number of cells. Guess you accidentally entered into programming mode and programmed the esc to a different battery type. You are using 3S I guess. Try going through the manual of the esc and reprogram. Just wild guess.

Sorry, I didn't get you sir, but I don't even have a programming card, can the ESC be programmed via Transmitter? Newbie here.

Ya. most esc s are programmable using transmitter. Do you have the product manual with you? it generally contains all the instructions.

Didn't knew this, I thought ESC's didn't need any programming, hopefully I went to hobbystore and got a new set of compatible ESC and ready to sky motor, I hope I will soon test the old motor or ESC, because the Hobbyshop guy warned to not put faulty esc with motor and vice versa, but I don't know how much truth is in his statement.
