Hi,
to vertically take off a 4 pound model your motor should produce thrust more than 4pound.
ie if u have  a 1000kv motor higly configured produces 2000gram of thrust then,
1. Model weight 1000g.
2. Model weight 2000g.
3. Model weight 3000g.
Probably all the models will fly,but the 1st one will take off vertically.
And same with the Diesel and Nitro engine.
