I am building  Hexacopter with Frame Tarot 80 pro.

Which approach is better to choose  battery to have long flight time?
1) Single 6S Battery with higher capacity (x)mAh.
2) Parallel connection of two 6S batteries with capacity (x/2)mAh.

I have decided to use 6S battery, so you mean I should go ahead approach 2) i.e.
2) Parallel connection of two 6S batteries with capacity (x/2)mAh.

selecting a battery is not only about increase in flight time, its also about fulfilling the power requirements of your setup

Consider the following examples:

You are building a hexacopter where each motor draws a max current of 20A
total current draw of all six motor = 6 x 20A
                                                 = 120A
now, you also have other electronic components on the hexacopter like Autopilot, gimbal, retractable landing gear etc all these will also draw power from the same power source, lets say the combined current draw of all these equipment is 10A

total current draw on the hexacopter =120A+10A
                                                      = 130A

case 1:

now let say you select one battery  6s 8000 10c

the max current the lipo can safely provide is = 8000 mah x 10c
                                                                  = 80,000 mah or 80A

so in case 1 your current requirements are not at all fulfilled, your battery will be damaged

case 2:

now let say you select two batteries each of 6s 8000mah 25c which are connected in parallel

the max current the two lipo can safely provide is = (8000mah x 25c) + (8000mah x 25c)
                                                                        = 200,000 mah + 200,000mah
                                                                        = 400,000 mah or 400A

so in case 2 your current requirements are easily satisfied, but it also adds additional weight which will either decrease payload capacity without affecting endurance or decrease flight time with increase in payload.

you also need to see the advantage and disadvantage of parallel connection and also a single battery.

also choose a battery that can provide a minimum of two times more current than the required current of your setup

But again be careful while operating with such big setups! It requires a great experience to build and operate such high powered system and a lot of safety checks are needed before, during and after testing!

so i hope you have a plan for all that!

Thanks,
Sure I shall take care of all safety checks.
