Title: Boats/Ships Post by: VC on December 04, 2009, 06:31:09 PM Can someone please let me have the Name and Contact details of anyone who supplies Boat / Ship Balsa kits in India? I believe there are some good suppliers in Mumbai. There was also a company called Friends Chemicolour in Kolkata. I can't seem to find anything on the net. Once upon a time, these guys were regular suppliers to the NCC. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks and Regards, VC Title: Re: Boats/Ships Post by: ankur on December 04, 2009, 07:25:43 PM make one yourself
Title: Re: Boats/Ships Post by: VC on December 04, 2009, 07:29:06 PM Ankur, perhaps you didn't understand me. I am looking for boat kits with plans and the parts etched out on balsa sheets. What did you mean by, "make one yourself"? Are you suggesting scratch building it?

I am 45 years old. When I was your age, I have done my fair share of scratch building. All the fancy items that you get off the shelf were not available to us. Thanks for your advice. Regards, VC  Title: Re: Boats/Ships Post by: allthatido on December 05, 2009, 12:17:35 AM as far i remember...pay less fly more has a collection of boats..

NO ONE has the address or contact details of a single company selling Balsa wood kits for Boats or Ships in India? :banghead: Ankur, thanks but those are not the kind that I am looking for. I am looking for Naval Ships like Destroyers, Frigates and Motor Torpedo Boats. Thanks anyway. Regards, VC  Title: Re: Boats/Ships Post by: allthatido on December 07, 2009, 11:02:45 PM Hi VC
In that case i would suggest to buy some balsa and download a plan...and start building your dream boat  regards Title: Re: Boats/Ships Post by: VC on December 07, 2009, 11:10:14 PM Hi Ankur!
That is exactly what I am doing now! A 40cm Cabin Cruiser is on the way. Next step is the 75cm MTB. Probably will go down to Kolkata and hunt out my old suppliers. Are you into Boats as well? Want the MTB / Cabin Cruiser Plans? Let me know. Cheers!
