Don't wake a Tiger until you've factored the teeth

Why don't you go through the posts in this subject on the forum? There are plenty of links and build logs - from simple to advanced projects. You will even find most material sources

Have you given any thought to size (dimensions, weight) and power unit?

Balsa sheets ranging from 2.5mm to 6mm would be good ideally for building outrigger and other boats. Traditionally balsa and plywood are also used to built boats. You can use depron to build airboats. I have built a couple of airboats with 3 mm depron. But that being said, it depends on what you intend to build, power, speed , size , you would have to take all into considerations.
