hi!
i am more of a plane guy, but my friend wants me mto help him build an RC boat...
but i am wondering what motor i will need...
 these are the parts i have:-
Rx
9g servo
40x30 prop
1300 Mah battery

please suggest a good motor for this config... boat will be around 2-3 feet in length

Hello Aniket,
i generally use brush dc perm motors for my scratch scale model boats, although brushless also are favoured if speed is a requirement.
but for a model scale craft between 24" to 36" I would suggest either one 12v dc 250gmcm torque & about 7500rpm, rated at 0.8A is about or in case of twin screws I would prefer 2 X 6v dc 100 gmcm torque 5000 rpm rated at 0.6A.

You mention that your batt is 1.3Ah but what is the voltage o/p ? If 12v then you could try a 12v dc motor specified above.

 yea its a 1300mah 11.1v 3s1p 20C...
i am looking for brushless mainly... as i prefer brushless to brushed.....

also ca nyou give me a few links to motors from some LHS website??

is the Emax 2812 a good option??
