Hi friends,

This time I am going to build gas carrier. Dimension is 1100 x 180 mm.
Here are some images of laser cut bulk heads and some images of perfection I got after adopting laser cutter. Will update step by set construction.

Since it will be a static model i have selected MDF 2.7 mm. Model will be covered by balsa only because i give preference to it only. going to update covered images very soon.

Here are final assembly of bh,have remove almost 50% bh to reduce the weight. I think will cover it by tomorrow.

I have completed hull construction today. Will give final finishing by weekend. And hope to finish it final by 10th. Now main challenge will start as have selected copper tubes for deck line of gas.

If you REALLY want to get into a lot of work and detailing, here is a page that you may find interesting/painful. Go for a Dome Tank Superstructure - it adds more character to the model.

Yes I am also thinking for the same. Have ordered some parts from uk. Waiting it to reach to me. Also adding copper tubes of 2,4 and 6 mm dia. To give it realistic look with white orange and red scheme.

Finally it will go with 4 dome. My work is going to be more challenging? It will require more detailing with prisision.  Feeling excited to move further.

Friends every thing is ready just waiting for dom which i have gave to make. Did not go to collect it but by sunday entire set up with rough planning will be ready. Water and weather proffing is done. Now will start working on to make gas pipeline and connection.

She is ready for makeover.

So deck will be white with White Dom. Which I have prepared.

Here some close up of dom and scratch built anchor winch.

I have received some deck fittings and waiting few more. Expecting to receive it by day or two.

Deck fitting would be more challenging.  8-)

What are the domes made out of?

How do you plan to reshape/modify them? The tops of the domes are not exact replicas when compared with the photos of the Arctic Princess.

It is made out of Fibreglass mate.

And picture which I have posted earlier of arctic princess was just for reference. Ship it will not match exactly to it.  

Fixing of Dom and pipeline would be different.

More progress. It was really difficult to decide about the super sturcture. But at last it is in place with lots of observation and study. Also got deck fittings so now probably it will be finised by these week end.

From where did you get those railings. I had made one container ship model and making railings was very tough job.

Bought it from UK. :) 250mm long and 11 mm in height. But they sell it very costly. I think by spending for one you can cover 2-3 model in the same cost. ;)
