Title: BHIMA..she is my ultimate drifter...
Post by: roopeshkrishna on August 10, 2011, 09:25:07 PM
Friends and colleagues..
after getting my internet connection at home, i was able to explore through many postings in our Forum..and got many inspiration..found many answers..and got many matured advices and guidance..and i also found a thread..was much interesting, was about RC Cars..
actually i stopped thinking about RC cars, far before...but many of the postings reignited my passion on it..
but thinking about an RC car or Drifter is far beyond reach..some more than 30,000/- Rs..and all complicated machines...
and when i tried to make..almost impossible...yes..? no...
i always lives in a dream world..so i lives in my dream Nation..dream INDIA...all things is controlled by a dedicated ARMY..have many wings..Sangethika Bharathi, ( deals technology), is one of them..so all officers are dedicated..so the machines..yes, this machine is dedicated to my Country, for the ultimate service...
and yes all of my efforts are dedicated to the brave men and women, who, fought and sacrificed their lives to our Country..and brave men and women who serving our country...
so, i named it as BHIMA..why..yes, Bharathi's Heavy  Integrated Multi Utility Automobile.. :salute:

i spent nothing on this only around 200/- Rs..and the whole structure was made out of styro flex sheets..and she works well..even in a grueling situation...

making a chassis for a car is a horror for most of us...but here you can see how simple it is...and i adopted the full float suspension, so none of any shock is affected on vehicle, as the swing arms are too long..and it also gives us a pleasant looking action on bump roads..you can see two simple springs fixed on a simple arm, ( bicycle spokes), and fixed at the center on a floating stopper..so it will make a PRO action, while bumping...

the steering mechanism was made out of scraped materials, and arms were from aluminum sheets..the differential took from a good scraped toy..and reworked with metal gears...here you can see the suspensions in detail..sorry for the multiple postings..connection is far slow... :giggle:

at beginning my idea to control the craft was a toy radio..but it will consume lots of my time..so later i decided with a professional one...

so i decided with this radio..i am thanking to Sai sir, for dealing this excellent radio set, is a value for money..for the cost of a Chinese RC Car, this radio is a worth..and at beginning, i thought it was a bad machine..but as i examined inside, it s a true value for money unit..and with a good range even with a concealed antenna..so i started my work on here..i altered internal diagram, to get electronic gear shifting and traction control. by removing the right hand stick spring, i can fix the power ratio anywhere in to FWD and REW.and with the throttle stick, as usual, can accelerate the vehicle..
traction control is wedded with direction also. so it will gives us a pumping resonation to the motor for instant start up..

we can see the sticks are free..at our command..right is for electronic traction ..while the left is throttle..all combinned in the receiver also..was a hard job..

I have very little artistic skills ..... Like the look of your vehicle. I had a project In mind for a long time got all the material for that but cant find the time nor the inspiration for the Chassis. Your post gave me a lil bit of a spark. Will try to consult with u wen I start making it. Dont know when I will get some free time to do my hobbies....
