Hi Guys,

After ages and ages of research and discussion, i finally decided to get my first truggy and narrowed it down to Losi 8IGHT-T 2.0 4WD RTR.(yes i can afford it now, coz i started saving since the start of my research  Grin , and now i dont even remember when i started)
My only questions now are
1) Can it be used to bash, not heavy though
2) Can spares of any other brand fit this truggy

PS: RC Car community in India rocks. The dealers are just awesome. I work in a market research firm and have a fair understanding of various industries. The RC Car industry in India is a pleasant surprise.

For Mods  - Please let me know where i can give feedback for dealers , I cant find a sticky of any sort. I am not talking about feedback for a dealer  i have traded with but all other guys i spoke to and who helped me with this process. A lot of them deserve an applause for the professionalism they showed though i wont buy from them.

It can take bashing. If you want to race, it can do that too. On the cross comaptibility of spares, I'm not too sure.

Its an 1/8 scale so its going to be ridiculously tough and it has the genes of a buggy and a monster truck. I know of people who bash their 8ightT's without any problems. I'd suggest you go ahead with it.

For feedback, if they have a profile on RCI, you can use the feedback system and  leave feedback. If they aren't members here, you can start a thread in the cars section speaking about how your buying experience was. We'd love to know that.

And welcome to RC India Smiley

Thanks iamahuman,

I was expecting the first reply from you and so you did, given how active you are in the forum Smiley

And I haven't yet bought any, so once I am done with the purchase, I'll write my story may be in detail.

Now that you mentioned it, is it better to go for a 1/10th truggy over a 1/8th truggy?

For bashing, the 1/10 truggy won't be great. Go ahead with the 1/8 truggy.

I've got my holidays going on. You'll be seeing a lot of me around here Grin

PS: The 1/10 class isn't big in India. They'll stick you in with the bad boys in electric open. If you're lucky enough, they'll make a 1/10 open class where you have to face bigger cars like the SCT's. And SCT's love bumper to bumper action >Cheesy
The only 1/10 truggy I know of the the Hyper 10TT. People have converted stampede 4x4's into truggies with great success.

The losi 8T can definitely be bashed. It is a proven design and works very well in all conditions. At the CBE race the losi truggy finished first.

Why would some one want that when original spares are also priced equivalent or may be even lower than other brands...Huh?

Just out of curiosity mate, in-case there is an issue with the availability of original spares.

And do anyone in India stock spares? Not just Losi for that matter, any brand of spares.

Spares can be found only with their respective authorized dealers. So you cant find someone who is not a dealer of a particular brand but has stocks of models of all brands

@Kgr99: Traxxas, Jammin, HPI Racing, Thunder Tiger, Losi spares are readily available in India so you shouldnt have an issue. As for cross compatibility i dont see the point of using a different brand unless its a 3rd party manufacturing upgrades for the car.
