what does port do..? M sorrybro, i dont have much idea about nitros.

A PORT is an opening in the cylinder for entry of fuel air mixture and exit of exhaust.

Here is sample of 9 port Engine (Alpha A872).. There is 3 port, 5 port, 7 port and 9 port options available in alpha engines. Higher the ports, Higher the power. Run time can be increased by choosing the proper exhaust and Carb inlet options.

Simple, more ports mean more airflow. Less ports better low end, more ports, better top end. This is what I have learned while porting and polishing my Yamaha RX 100 engine back in the 90s. 

More ports mean less fuel efficiency. So nitro should have the same tech, I assume. Also porting your engine reduces its life considerably unless built for it.

Some nitro engine manufacturers achieve more power and fuel efficiency from lesser ports, that's model engineering.

Now a days these 5 port and 7 port engines can last for 11mins if they properly tuned with right hop up. When i met David Aw, the Malaysian RC champion, he said he is getting close to 11mins on his Alpha S852. I was very impressed by what he said and it made sense to me as well.. Can't wait to see my new engines fly on track.. Cody king used a 5 port engine for the IFMAR worlds..

Hi, Alpha engines comes only with bump start.. It can be started using started box only, The basic engines comes with pull start and costs cheaper as well.. For monster truck, look at LRP or Picco... They seem to be the favorite among the monster truck owners..

Alpha qualified 2nd and 5th in the FEMCA championship..
