3s is already overkill. 4s is just asking for trouble. I suggest you stick with a 2s.
Beyond 2s, you're gonna put stress on the drivetrain.

Just buy a 2s lipo, and the motor that you linked here,won fit, it has a 5mm shaft, what you need is 3.17mm

how about this setup guys
Motor = http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__16019__HobbyKing_X_Car_8_5_Turn_Sensored_Brushless_Motor.html

Battery(only during bashing and gonna use 2s during racing) = http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__8934__Turnigy_2200mAh_3S_25C_Lipo_Pack.html

ESC = http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__13445__HobbyKing_Brushless_Car_ESC_45A_w_Reverse.html

Title: Re: Help Me in Upgrading my car to brushless

Your ESC may burn. For 10th scale, stick to 70-80+ Amp ESC's.
If using a higher amp ESC, get a battery capable of handling the amp draw of the ESC.

Wrong ESC, battery and motor. You can't run a sensored motor with a sensorless ESC very well.

As Divyam has already said, the ESC is too small. The battery is to small as well. You want something in the 5000 mAh range....

so how about this setup
motor = http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__7194__EZ_RUN_Brushless_Motor_10T_3900Kv.html
esc = http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__11743__HobbyKing_Brushless_Car_ESC_60A_w_Reverse.html
battery = http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__7634__ZIPPY_Flightmax_4000mAh_3S1P_20C_.html

and btw arpit singh was using the same setup

Title: Re: Help Me in Upgrading my car to brushless
Post by: iamahuman on November 10, 2011, 10:59:41 PM
The motor is a no no. It's a 380 rotor in a 540 can. It'll possibly overheat quickly. I wouldn't suggest running a 3s with a 1/10 ESC because all of them aren't up to the task of running 3s....

Title: Re: Help Me in Upgrading my car to brushless
Post by: dhaksha_dx on November 10, 2011, 11:14:58 PM
the esc is capable of running 4s so 3s  wouldnt be a problem i guess. and by the way i have seen many vids and reviews of people putting the motor in slash stampede and many other tamiya buggies, so what do you say

Title: Re: Help Me in Upgrading my car to brushless
Post by: iamahuman on November 10, 2011, 11:28:52 PM
I wouldn't suggest 3s on that ESC.... Infact I wouldn't suggest 3s on any HK esc...

Title: Re: Help Me in Upgrading my car to brushless
Post by: rajathv8 on November 10, 2011, 11:40:05 PM
It would be good to try 2s on a brushless setup first and then decide if you want/need 3s power. I would spend on a good setup and use nimh instead of lipo and later save up for a good 2s lipo.

Title: Re: Help Me in Upgrading my car to brushless
Post by: dhaksha_dx on November 11, 2011, 08:58:06 AM
then tell me any brushless motor

Title: Re: Help Me in Upgrading my car to brushless
Post by: dhaksha_dx on November 11, 2011, 09:15:46 AM
the reason for going to 3s is , i know how 2s was on my xt in the old brushed system and i was not satisfied with the power it delivered so thinking of 3s

Title: Re: Help Me in Upgrading my car to brushless

There it is. Ofcourse your going to see a HUGE difference with the BL system, even on a 2s. I felt the diff b/w brushed and brushless on NiMH itself.
3s is overkill. Your going to end up straining the drivetrain a lot. Stuff starts breaking a LOT.

How about this motor / http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__17713__XK3650_B_3900KV_Brushless_Inrunner.html
with this esc /
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__8993__Hobby_King_Brushless_Car_ESC_100A_w_Reverse_Upgrade_version_.html

and a 2s lipo,
will it be better faster and more powerfull than this setup/

The 100A ESC is good. A programming card may not be required if you want to change the setup once or twice (i feel its not necessary for bashing but would be good to have if you are interested in racing).

I feel the combo is better.

how about this motor http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__6672__KD36_60_06L_4000kv_Brushless_Inrunner.html
with the HK 100 amp esc  http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=8993
and a 2s lipo,
and i guess this pinion is a 5mm 48 pitch 1 http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__21104__Pinion_Gear_19T_w_Set_Screw_1_10_Brushless_2WD_Desert_Racing_Buggy.html

Title: Re: Help Me in Upgrading my car to brushless

Not too sure on the pinion... The motor might be too big for the XXT. The ESC looks iffy as well....

Title: Re: Help Me in Upgrading my car to brushless
Post by: dhaksha_dx on December 23, 2011, 11:43:54 AM
not a problem if the motor is big coz ill have sme extra torque,
and will it be  a ggod upgrade if the pinion is a 5mm 48pitch one, coz 4000kv will run fast plus the 3660 size will give good amount of orque so ill have the best of both worlds, ?

Title: Re: Help Me in Upgrading my car to brushless
Post by: iamahuman on December 23, 2011, 03:47:55 PM
Uhhh will your drivetrain take more power? There are times when less is more...

Title: Re: Help Me in Upgrading my car to brushless
Post by: dhaksha_dx on December 23, 2011, 09:18:18 PM
the spur gear is delicate so ill have to put a metal spur. nd yes rest all diffs and all are metal so no prob i guess + it will cost me 3500 rs so i simply dont hav to spend 5500 on the 100amp hk combo.
and wat do u mean by "There are times when less is more..."

Title: Re: Help Me in Upgrading my car to brushless
Post by: iamahuman on December 23, 2011, 09:32:01 PM
I meant more power is good to an extent and comparatively less power is good when compared to more power...
