Title: How to select motor for RC car Post by: rahimv on April 20, 2015, 11:49:13 PM Hello Friends,
I am planning to build an RC car but do not have much idea on how to select appropriate motor / speed controller for it. I am not looking for much speed (probably 10-15 km/h), but car should able to carry total weight load of approximately 2 to 3 kg. Power efficient motors would be added advantage! I do not have much idea on where to start so any pointers would be much appreciated. Thank You. Thanks for the reply. 1/8 scale scratch built most probably. I could also consider 1/10 scale. Thank You. Title: Re: How to select motor for RC car Post by: Nanu on April 21, 2015, 02:01:48 PM anything between 60amps for 1/10 scale, and for 1/8 I recommend min 100Amp ESC.
And a matching motor, this is with 2S LiPo on the 1/10 and 4S or even 3S on the 1/8th. Also consider ur gearing ratios. Title: Re: How to select motor for RC car Post by: rahimv on April 21, 2015, 05:39:03 PM Hello Nanu,
Thanks for the reply. Any suggestion for the motors? Like T and KV? Thank You. Title: Re: How to select motor for RC car Post by: iamahuman on April 21, 2015, 06:06:01 PM It'd help us if you could specify the approximate weight and gear ratios.
To get an idea, take a look at 1:8 E-buggies and truggies. |
