Mugen Seiki Rules

Looks like everyone wants a share of Traxxas Slash's market. First it was Associated, then Losi and now HPI. Many small players also have their version of the CORR racing truck. Based on the E-Firestorm platform.

Hope HPI makes it better than the Slash which as per users has poor plastics. Sadly HPI has kept the truck non brushless possibly to remain competitive. Very aggressive thread pattern. Others are also at the $200 mark.

May be dumb question, but sounds valid. How come trucks/cars seem to be RTFs or ARFS. How come no kits. At least haven't seen any being sold. Won't the cost be much lower if these were in kit form. Like planes what all does it take to make a scratch built truck - will be nice to see a mini-lorry like the ones we have locally  Cheesy. ...... Something like SPTD  Tongue

No Tg, lot of cars come in Kit format. Most of good Tamiya and Kyosho models are kits. HPI and TT also have many Kits. Even petrol models come in kits like the popular HPI Baja SS  and FGs. Traxxas has no kits. They are completely RTR.

Car Kits are cheaper only by a few $. Some kits are more expensive than RTRs. RTRs are mostly built to a price and have cheaper quality materials and basic radios.

There are race rollers as well, factory built race cars. We need to add engine and electronics. Losi and Associated has many race rollers.

The slash looks much better and is more durable as well. Stadium trucks are gaining popularity as they look a lot like the real cars. the slash is a replica of CORR Pro2.

The Jammin SCRT has turned out to be the most reliable and racing wining 1/10 Short course trucks in the market. Associated SC10 and Slash is a close second. In 1/8s its the SC8e, but the class is not popular. HPI Blitz catching up.

In Nitro, no competition for the Associated SC8, its directly based on the race oriented RC8T truggy.
